Levin's LV Status

Does anyone know which station Mark Levin will end up on in Las Vegas? He kind of hinted last week that he would be moving to a live time slot, but he never mentioned on which station.

Mostly any radio station that carries Hannity. The only reason Levin have a radio show because of Hannity. If you want to have Hannity radio show you must pick up Levin. The only radio station that stood up to Hannity is WJNO AM in Palm Springs FL.

Palm Springs, FL? WJNO is in West Palm Beach, FL. And interestingly, WJNO buries Hannity in a 9 pm to Midnight slot, following libtalkers Randi Rhodes and Ed Schultz.

12:00am-5:00am Coast to Coast AM with George Noory
5:00-9:00am The Palm Beaches' Morning Report w/ Jon Howe
Rush Morning Update @ 7:43am
9:00-12:00pm Glenn Beck
Noon-3:00pm Rush Limbaugh
3:00-6:00pm Randi Rhodes
6:00-9:00pm Ed Schultz
9:00pm-12am Sean Hannity

I've always said KDWN shouldn't air Levin without demanding Hannity (who's on delay on KXNT anyway). I wouldn't put it past BBGI to move Levin to PMD on KDWN, but they've bounced him entirely to make more room for Heidi Hamilton (good move - local against Rush). Perhaps he's moving to 1280, supplanting Beck. Although, from the looks of things at KDWN's numbers department, nobody cares.

And, no, WJNO is hardly the only station that "stood up" to Hannity. Seeing that there's nowhere else in the market to go (save FTL, which doesn't want to serve WPB, and WBZT, a brokered hole), Citadel has to put up with Hannity on tape on JNO. In more competitive talk markets, they have options. But there are many a stations that don't air Levin.

Guess no one knows yet. I'm going to call the Levine show and ask them what goes on. I don't care for Hannity or Lavine myself, but the 840 am station just made a big deal about going down for the Hannity concert in San Diego.

I did find it hard to believe that Hannity would leave KXNT. And, it looks like he isn't. Look at KXNT's new schedule...avec Mark Levin!

You risk losing Hannity if you don't also agree to run his lapdog Levin. Sure you can bury him on some overnight slot, but if a station comes along that says it will air Hannity -and- the radio equivalent of Mr. Makegood live, and you won't, buh bye to both for your station. The magical irony, as is often the case with the coattail grabbers like Levin, is his boasting about his own prominence on the talk radio scene and his fabulous success, which is owed virtually entirely to the force-feeding of The Shrill One down the throat of stations that don't want him. The only one kicking himself over this is Glenn Beck, who is wondering why he didn't think of this first.

There is very little positive to say about WJNO period, which this week also felt the need to protect the listeners of West Palm from potentially hearing anything negative about Limbaugh by refusing to sell ads to Votevets.

Huh? You may have the same first name as me, but that is where the similarity stops. Phillip you can't prove that statement is true, especially in the Las Vegas situation which is what this thread is about. It was KXNT that approached ME, and asked if they could have Levin and run him live in PM drive against Savage. They OFFERED us the deal. We did not put a gun to their heads. As part of the deal, they moved Sean back to his natural position, live after rush, creating a super star lineup of Rush to Sean to Levin on KXNT. They are thrilled with this move.

OK you are embarrassing our first names here with this non-informed comment. Since Levin was already being aired on KDWN and Hannity was already being aired on KXNT both were being heard in the market and there was no need for us to twist arms to get Levin cleared, and use the Hannity Hammer. So you are wrong. KDWN moved Levin to later in the evening, and we decided it would be better to move across town. I think everybody got what they wanted.

Ok this comment is so patently false I just have to laugh. Phillip I challenge you to name ONE SINGLE STATION that has Mark Levin that does not want him. Go ahead...I will sit by and wait for your response which will be posted below. Notice how Phillip will weasel out of this challenge, but will not be able to name one. In the case of the much discussed Wilmington decision, Sean was on WDEL and they did not want Mark. So we moved Sean to WILM, a station that did want Mark. We offered WDEL the chance to keep both, but they chose to go local. No problem there, we just made a smart business decision, and ended up getting both shows cleared in the market. That is what we are paid to do.

But the station that airs him now....LOVES him. The station that did not want him, did not take him. I would never want any station to take Mark that did not want to take Mark. Mark is now on 140 stations and is still the fastest growing talk show on the radio in America. And you can't name one station that has him that does not want him.

By the way, check the ratings. He is #1 in his timeslot in New York City, on my own station WABC. Not bad for a coattail grabber. I wonder how he managed to do that, up against Savage, 1010Wins...WCBS-AM with the Yankees...WFAN with the METS...and everything else on the air in NYC from 6-8pm. Hmmmmmmm?

Yup. Another round a hypocrisy for Limbo and his handlers.
Limbo makes a big deal about how he welcomes opposing views and "anyone who disagrees with me can buy ads on my affiliates"

Then look at what the world's biggest radio chain does- protect him by denying free speech to dissenters.

I guess it's not really a free market as talk radio's defenders claim.

So Randi Rhodes 9also on WJNO) didn't mention this "controversy"? Should affiliates pre-empt their regular spot load to air these ads like they have to with political candidates?

Who said anything about pre-empting?

CC and Rush said "Buy some time." A group tried but was shown the door due to some weak-kneed radio lapdopes.

I guess someone's a bit too scared that their sacred cow can't take some criticism.

Phil why do you continue to choose KXNT as your signal for ABC programming? Their signal is terrible, both day and night, with a null to the SE, covering one of the most fastest growing areas of the market - henderson/green valley.

Bob Brinker is hard to get on weekends when driving under Henderson power lines coming from Hoover Dam.

KDWN is a better choice, covering the entire market both day and night and they don't cut their power by 50 percent at night to 25kW.

KXNT DAY:

We had Hannity without Levin up until a couple of weeks ago. Not coincidentally, our ownership changed just a couple of weeks before that.

The downside is that we had a highly rated local news show during that time that went bye bye.

The upside is that Levin - despite being my political opposite - is entertaining. Far more than Hannity.

Sounds like a KDWN hack scared of KXNT's line-up. I have had no problems listening to 840, and I live in Henderson.

you're right that the signal is indeed listenable in henderson/green valley, but much weaker than the other talkers 720 and 970. The 840 pattern goes mostly NE and SW of the towers in N Las Vegas, and goes down to 25kW at night, but it's the pattern that's the main issue for power within buildings and under power lines.

Maybe Mr. Brinker should get on 970 since it's the business station?

They cut their wattage by 50%. The power drops by a factor of 1.4.

Soooo where is Phillip Dampiers list of stations that have Mark Levin that don't want him? For a coat-tail grabber who only gets on the air if we threaten to pull Hannity, you would think there would be a long list of stations sitting in that unfortunate predicament. So go ahead, name a few.

I'll wait.

Re: Levin's LV Status Oreilly?

I wonder if "Orealy" goes to kdwn or kdox? He is on against Rush in LA and SF. I was sorry to see Drudge go, at least he did something different. This Bill Cunningham is just a Hanity Lavine clone. How many people like this can we take.
