Levy Liaison May Pay Dividends For WGR-WBEN

WGR brass are probably smiling broadly, having established a relationship with Marv Levy during the past Bills season. Levy, no longer a "civilian," now runs the Buffalo Bills and although WGR has had a rocky relationship with the team over the years, Levy will likely give WGR the benefit of the doubt, for a while at least. The relationship between the Bills upper management and WGR is better now than it was a year ago.

Insiders say Scott Birchtold, Bills VP of Communication, has made it especially difficult for WGR beat reporters to cover the team and may have been the person Ralph Wilson was referring to when the team's owner and president apologized for members of the organization who confiscated fans' protest signs inside the stadium.

Of course, if ex-coach Chuck Dickerson begins ripping the Bills, Levy or Mularkey, all bets are off.

Considering how negative Schopp & The Bulldog were Thursday, including some personal shots at Levy, I doubt anything is going to change. Besides, I have always felt that the hosts at 'GR are being told to generate controversy by someone higher up. Both Schopp and Simon changed when they went to work there. Bulldog, on the other hand, has always sounded like he struggles to form a sentence.
