Lew Dickey quote on Susquehanna purchase

This quote came from a conference call he had to discuss the deal (courtesy of R&R's website):

"I really believe [consolidation] helps on both sides — revenue and expense — and I think you're going to see some compelling reasons for it to continue. When it's done thoughtfully and you can put assets together that fit well into easy combinations and manage them effectively, we believe there's a great deal of benefit."

What that says to me is more stations + fewer employees (or lower wages) = more profit.

Absolutely. Cheap ran, cheaply performed, and sounding cheap. The Ipod,cd, and satellite companies are appreciative.

Corporate speak for "We don't just want our share, we want it ALL--no matter how many employees we have to screw over to get it."

Not to mention the last huge round of consolidation disproved this theory!! his quote comes from a time warp.

Mangagement Counselor: "Well, what seems to be the problem?"

Well, I'm all screwed up.... and I don't have nay natural affection, and I go for the lowest common denominator -- every time. I just pretend to have integrity. I have no integrity, nor do I ever intend to. I basically say one thing, and do another.....

Job Counselor: " Have you thought about Radio?? I think that would be a perfect fit for you."
