Lex and Terry F Bomb on KHBZ

So I flip back to The Buzz at 10am to listen to music and I hear Lex and Terry on the air cutting promos and Lex dropping the F word. If I remember correctly the last morning person on "The Buzz" was going to eat Taco Mayo and get his stomach in a tizzy and take a hot stool over this chick on the phone, and they called that Indecent. So will this be the end of Lex and Terry? I hope so.

Ya know I heard that also. I feel sorry for The Buzz for having to put up with that show that more then likely did not send a tone to tell the computer what to do next. I hope for Jrod's sake nothing bad happens to him.

First off I am not "Beam" I use to work in TV in Tulsa and moved to Oklahoma City around 03 to start my own business.

(Insert yawn here) I just climbed out of my warm bed to post something on the behalf myself and someone else who called me last night. First off I am not scared to post under my real name and tell it how I see it, wether or not my opinions matter or not that is your call. Second GIVERS I got a phone call last night to tell you to shut up and that the F bomb did not go out over the air. The only reason I posted and said it did is I had my radio turned down in my office and was on the phone with a vendor and I thought I don't think he did but I was not 100% sure, so when I saw your post I thought oh well then it happened to find out by someone in the know that nothing was said next time I will just wait until I hear it from the horses mouth insted of the sheep. So if you have something to say then call up the PD he's a man he's 40 Sorry I had to say it :) Jrod you are doing a heck of a job ROCK ON!!!

Warm beer taste so crappy but cold beer will make me happy.

No what is pathetic is The Buzz is a hell of a station with little promotion and that is not Jrods fault, It is getting better I must say with a new website look harder music and a new attitude and I am just sure more is still to come but Lex and Terry to me drag that station down. I know they seem to do well in the TSL but what else is there to listen to? I must say for 2 1/2 staff members it is doing better. Adding Brian on there was a good move he sounds like a pro and doing hell of a job. Jay is not doing to bad himself (love the rubber room by the way).

What's really pathetic is that it seems you are manually typing the same quote at the end of your posts. The 'w' is not capitalized in this one, but it was in the last one. And why are you defending Jrod so much? No one here is blaming him for something that happened (or didn't happen) on a nationally syndicated show.

I defend him becuase he is the guy who gets the call if something happens on that station whether or not it is live here or somewhere else. To bad things did not work out between Clear Channel and myself Jeff would be a hell of a guy to work for and with.

Hey Beam,

Two things (not "to" or "too" or the Spanish familiar "tu")

1) You continue to write in your posts stuff like "To bad things did not work out" or "Jay is not doing to bad himself." The correct word here is "too." Guess they don't teach that in G.E.D. class.

2) If you know so much, why did you get fired from Clear Channel? Enough of you spreading crap about everyone else. Let's hear your story.

Oh and Givers...I noticed a similar pattern with your posts. Here are some examples from your past:

46 RADIO STATES / Oklahoma / Re: I can predict the future
on: February 20, 2007, 08:55:07 pm

"Z104.5 was low to until Rock 102.3 went away, he got a boost there and then left." (should be "TOO")

72 RADIO STATES / Oklahoma / Re: The Buzz new ratings approch
on: January 02, 2007, 08:51:14 am

"No I am not Beam, I got an email about that a few months back I just moved here not to long ago from Tulsa myself." (again "TOO")

138 RADIO STATES / Oklahoma / Re: Jack FM is On The Air
on: March 22, 2006, 08:31:15 am

"Ouch! I here they got ripped off on the TV Transmitter to." (do I have to say it?)(Oh and it is "HEAR" but we'll deal with spelling another time.)

139 RADIO STATES / Oklahoma / Re: Magic
on: March 21, 2006, 07:38:12 am

"If I was a board op at KOKC I would quit to. If I am not mistaken Citadel has a dress code to." (Beam and Givers...either grammatical coincidence, or BUSTED!!!!!)

Hey KylewithaK you seem like you work at Clear Channel I am sure Tom and Bill like it when there board op's are posting on Radio-info when his station is dead air coming back for the morning show. As for my story I got fired for playing a song legally 4:50 am in the morning and my program director played a song that was worse then mine and he played it Illegally (not during safe harbor) and I have tapes. Do you catch my drift? But if you really want to know the story go to the 10th floor in the NW cornor office and ask that nice man why I got fired? since you want to know so badly go ask him. I have never had any beef with anyone up there except 1 guy and as you can see he is not there anymore.

I also hear there are budget cuts coming pretty quick so if I were you I would look important so you don't get your box with your SSI number on it.

As for my spelling I suck at it too or to or two or Tuseday. Hey Beam why is it everyone thinks I am you or that you are me? What kind of tapes are they? We all like to pass along airchecks on here don't we? ;D

On the Radio Info home page, there's a story about some morning guy in Austin getting yanked because he calls Obama a "clean darkie" -- and on the same page Opie and Anthony lose another station... Gee, there's hope for radio, yet.

There is? Is restrictive dumbed-down radio what we REALLY want? If I am offended by what one station puts on the air, don't I have a tuning knob or button to change way from what offends me? Why must we all stay within the restrictions of those that are always "offended"? Who gives a crap if a guy is on the air and talks about bodily functions after eating some mexican food or lets out the F-bomb? The real problem is that the "talent" has got so bad they think that either stupid crap like the Taco M./stool routine is funny or cussing will help the ratings. (I realize in this case it's just a screwup on L and T's producer's part). The fact is today's corporate radio sucks and most good talent, like a lot of listership, have given up on today's corporate and went elsewhere. Overconsolidation is the problem of course.

And another thing... Why the F#*# is radio STILL paying for Janet Jackson's TV "malfunction"? Why are we always the kicking dog for the FCC and it seems Congress for that matter? Yeah, there WAS Stern and there is O and A, but does that represent the majority of radio stations? Once again, do these goodie-two-shoe crap-stirring jerks that get fines jacked up to excessive amounts not have a dial they can tune over to their local God-channel or AC station?

Hey OKC, I think we are in agreement. But it simply isn't necessary to talk about "stool" and gutter humor (man, this is making me sound like an old fogey!) -- I just think radio can be better than it is, funnier than it is (man, I miss Johnny Carson) -- and a better caliber of talent could/would work in the industry. I started in the business years ago (1970) back when the FCC had pretty serious rules about content (we were scared to death even if we said "hell" -- no kidding), and it may sound square today, but the product was simply better because you had to Think before you opened the mic. You had to take more CARE in what you said BEFORE you said it. I think you and I are on the same page, really, but when Standards return to the business, the business will be much, much better. I come from a time when ID's were every hour on the hour, you took meter readings every HALF hour (no computer to do it for you), you signed on and off of a program AND transmitter log. There were a lot of rules from the FCC and Management, but you knew the boundaries and stayed within them. It ain't hard.
