Lex And Terry Taking 1010XL To Court

Hmmm interesting. Pretty messed up if you ask me.

... can you say, bitter?

Can you say, "stupid station owner that signed a contract locking him into a multi-deal year he could never afford for a station that barley covers the metro"?

Love/hate L&T, they should sue this guy.

I have no doubt he thought he was getting the show that used to be #1 12+, but never considered the effects of PPM, where the show's lifecycle is today, the lack of coverage across the Jacksonville area, how it would fit with the station's brand and a total lack of marketing.

None of that is Lex or Terry's fault. A contract is a contract.

Pay up dummy.

Well, it was said in the article that they'd make the show more sports-oriented which apparently, they didn't do or to not a significant level. Maybe that was in the contract. But, here's hoping they LOSE!

The $$ numbers are breathtaking, if not astounding. I can't imagine a small AM station being able to come close to fullfilling that deal. They must have been drugged or hypnotized when they inked that agreement. Maybe the impossibility of the whole deal makes it so one-sided as to be uninforcable. Are the L&T deals in other medium markets so expensive?

At best, L&T can get a judgement and maybe collect some cash before the station is forced to declare chapter 11. That'll be the end of it.

The numbers are absurd. $300K per year for morning drive programming on an AM sports station? They need to fire whoever made that deal - they obviously can't operate a calculator.

I'm quite certain that deal would have never been approved had the "bean counter" been in charge...

I think that number comes from certain people thinking L&T still have "cache" in Jax, which adds value under normal circumstances. I've got news for y'all: L&T burnt those bridges long ago. They're never coming back.
