Lex & Terry Gone From 1010XL

As told by a loyal listener and sports junkie that Lex & Terry have been booted off 1010XL as of this morning. With the PPM it doesn't take long to figure things out now does it?

Good riddance! They've become completly unlistenable over the past several years.

Well you can call us Jax, you can call us J'Ville, but you doesn't have to call us Freakville! Looks like the Sunshine Duo lost their touch up there.

I remember moving from Jax to Orlando to go to school in early 92......Arf in the morning...can't recall the name of the cohost. When I came back in 94', it was Lex and Terry in the morning. By that time, I had been hearing Ron & Ron in the morning on WJRR so I was kind of used to the "FM shock talk" format by then...but I think even in 94, they were playing some music along with the yammering.

Still, I never really got the format..it was pretty much Seinfeld radio

IT wasn't a good fit for XL - never a good idea to change your format for 4 hours in AM drive, especially not having local sports talk in that daypart during football season. If you look at the L&T fans that posted on Facebook it was "I only listened in the morning, now I'm not gonna listen at all" What's the point of having listeners that you can't maintain because they are not into your regular format?

Read many of your Another Cat posts and respect your opinion. Do you think these two guys are a good fit anywhere in almost the year 2012?

I have the (mis) fortune of hearing them daily in Savannah. They've been #1 in this market for some time now, and I honestly can't figure it out. Sure, they have moments of brilliance & can be entertaining during those times, but as the show has aged, the primary characters are losing their way. Terry has become more of the crumudgeon over Lex as of late. Terry's liberal politics continue to isolate the P1's (18-34M) especially in this region of the country. Lex used to provide counterbalance to Terry's views, but no more. Tyler, or "taint" continues to disappoint with his childish anctics & smarmy attitude. Dee seems to be the only member of this troupe left that hasn't deviated from his original style.

The show has long outlasted it's usefullness.

I saw a story on the news this morning (WJXT) about Lex and Terry suing 1010xl for breach of contract, not paying them, and they said that they took their show off, not 1010xl.

Waah. See what the "Givers" are doing to a local broadcaster! Scummy indeed!

Times Union is reporting that contract was for $800K over 3 years - by the plantiff's attorneys calculation. I would think it would be a barter deal of some sort - any thoughts?
