Wonder if CC would be intrested in bringing back the Jagger Mafia or if CBS would flip Mega to Amp they could fit in there? Thoughts?

Okay, all joking aside. I have 2 questions:
1. Is the show on XM any better or the same crap with cuss words?
2. Can they handle 4hrs without music (assuming not a music oriented flip)?

I listened for about the last 2 months at the eagle for 10-15 minute spurts. I'm an easy demo, fart jokes, fat jokes, and stereotype jokes make me laugh (yup, typical WT Redneck), but even they couldn't keep me laughing???

There show is talk. Due to low ratings, it was KEGL towards the end of their run that began inserting music...

One would assume since they're show is a syndicated morning show, once the contract with KEGL ends and they can air on KRLD-FM, it will displace KRLD-FM's current show.

If I recall, I think like BaD Radio on KTCK, they used to go on a Dallas Stars road trip periodically. So, I guess KRLD-FM can call it a sports show...

I was thinking the same thing because why else would they bring in L & T. I also recall Jagger making fun of their show a while back and talking about how their ratings sucked and now CBS is going to bring in the same guys you were competing against to replace you???

Keep in mind that in West Palm they air on a tape delay. They used to be in mornings there but have been in nights there for some time now. This appears to be a different situation though from what the article said. Will we have Drunk Bitch Saturday on The Fan?

I totally believe that they are going to 105.3.
Greg and Gavin are doing some tired-ass "getting-the-fiance-angry-on-live-radio" bit right now. Its making me cringe, but I do welcome having hot talk on the radio once again.

So do they do their own show or have to do the fan format of lame calls, instant messages and emails?

They did say back in Jan. after they got canned and Jagger talked trash that they were taking his job, guess they were right about that.

Rookie to the board. Glad it's here. Had drinx with a friend says Lex and Terrible to 105.3 mornings. Russ Martin to 97.1 mornings. All in about 6 weeks.

Russ, you can stop with the random posts about yourself. Let go already.

Just some factual info:

L&T will be doing two or three Saturday appearances on the Fan starting in June. It will be an irregular schedule as in that same timeframe the guys have appearances booked in places that end in 'Ville and/or 'Town.

They will be doing their normal show (your mileage my vary ;)) for four hours from 9am-1pm from CBS' facility, not our studios here in the CC building. For those not familiar, our's is a talk show and already contains sports content the amount of which depends on what's going on in the sports world. Our 13 year old network reaches the entire country via XM Radio, and airs on terrestrial stations from Orlando to Fargo. These upcoming few shows on The Fan, will air only in Dallas.

L&T's current deal with CC goes through the end of Sept of this year, but please note that the majority of our affiliates are not CC stations - so the idea of being on a station owned by a different broadcaster is not new.

That's it. That's all there is to it. Feel free to email me anytime.

Sounds like a pretty busy month for L&T. Mmmmm, maybe Jacksonville or Gainesville, FL. Could be Asheville, NC or Morgantown, WV, markets #46, #81, #159 and #176 respectively. It's hard to tell from your cryptic statement but I gather we should see how a commitment in any of those places might preclude an appearance in Market #5. Then again, being on the Fan isn't great exposure either, and yes, I'm being facetious. Sort of.

Peter, I understand one thing. You're doing your best to promote the guys and maybe the show works well in some places around the country. I'd like to see some numbers that might back that up, because they just didn't work in D/FW. Do they deserve the morning show on 105.3? I guess that depends on one's perception of "last-ditch" attempt, whether it's related to the duo or the doomed [frequency].

Ordinarily I stay away from morning show critiques but this thread has prompted me to make an exception. From what I can see, my feelings about L&T don't seem to differ too much from a lot of the people on this board. I gave them numerous chances on random days at random times over the span of a few months and I found them boring. Make that tired and boring, whether the subject was of the supposed general interest genre or they were zeroing in on sports, it barely held my interest. To me the discussion was generally too slow-paced and absent of any building suspense. Nothing major to begin with, and frequently no clear-cut ending to the "bits," if they could even be called that. The way I see it, there's just not much payoff for the time invested by the listener.

This is an opinion piece, with no offense intended toward you, but you've surely got your work cut out for you. The list of L&T's former markets is much more impressive that their current line-up.

I'm with you, JD. I admit I've knocked Pete in the past for his undying devotion to a show that is...well...dying. But his devotion is respectable. If only L & T took their jobs as seriously as Pete does his position to protect them, they would have a shot. Oh yea, and a little talent wouldn't hurt either.

This truly not a personal bash on the show, it just DOES/DID NOT WORK in D/FW. I think of all the truly talented people that deserve a shot and have worked hard...

And I'm hearing the 'eventually to mornings in June/July' thing is done. Another smart move, CBS. Geez...
