They're officially gone from The Edge, any possible replacements?

How about..NOBODY. Lets go all music all morning, no wacky hosts or idiotic banter between 5a-10a. It'll make my listening alot easier.

You mean people can actually listen to that station?! Man, my dial is really sensitive to crap, so it just rushes on by. :D

I just hope they are parking Itchy and Twitchy over on 97.1 long enough to finish out their miserable contracts and pull the handle twice as we watch their big 'ol one go right the hell down where they belong.

To say they are talentless is a understatement.

Agreed L&T are no talent hacks! I cant stand D or Taint either. I'll be glad when this contract is up and they go buh by! I just want music on in the morning while driving from work. If I wanted to hear jibberish talk radio I'd listen to AM stations.

Ive discovered something in the non-radio world that applies in broadcasting. The people who actually have talent and creative ideas are usually kept out of the public eye because the persons who ride on their previous laurels and sub-standard product has found a way to keep a foothold, be it by bribery, blackmail or good ol' fashion American buttkissing. I think a combination of the three has kept these two clowns on the air.

You just now figured that out eh ;)

yeah I know they lied the lady that told me is a few fries short of a happy meal :p

I tried to listen to some of the morning show on The Eagle today.....

And it was just pathetic.....

Here, these guys are talking about music topics, bands, etc.....

And OH! How awfully painful it is to hear them try and make each uttering out of their mouths 'sound' interesting.....

WHAT ! A Contrast to the Guys over at the Ticket, talking about --anything--, inculding music... but sounding interesting, naturally.

DO LEX & TERRY EVEN HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT IS --- AND WHAT IS NOT "COOL" ? ? ?

My God this reaks......

I guess there's a larger market for this drivvle than I ever concieved in this area....

I see know why there is such a dumb-down playlist over there at the Eagle....

Some... good tracks manage to get through though......

Ocassionally, a great song, --is-- Number One... :D

So---- I turned off the radio (again...) and linked into The Eagle's fine database of Band Videos .... and got satisfation there...

MTV on the Internet .... Who Knew!!

Like ive said elsewhere, both the dallas music and radio scene has become lowest common denominator. KEGL has always aimed for the burned out metalhead who still lives in their parents back room or basement, the same crowd would rather pay a hunk of cash to see Ozzy hop around on stage like the crazed retiree he is or Metallica on whatever dang reunion/reirement tour scam there running on their "fans", than go catch a lesser known or up and coming act at a small performance venue. This town quite frankly lacks any real credibility when it comes either of these things, its like the Austin Lounge Lizards once said "When God was handing out souls to cities, Dallas was in line at the bank".

Off topic a bit but when you said retirement tour it reminded me that Foreigner's summer tour is actually sponsered by AARP! No lie... :D

Im guessing their doing ensure shots on the bus as well with their cougar-aged groupies.

Urgent (Where's My Life Alert Button?)
Long, Long Way from (Rest) Home
Dirty White Old Man
I Want To Know What Death Is
I've Been Waiting (for my Social Security Check)
Luanne (Platter)
Hot Flashes
Double Glaucoma
Dead Games
Flu Morning, Flu Day
That Was Yesteryear
Heart Turned to Stone
Juice Box Hero

All sung by Lou Gramm(-of-morphine)

Just a big radio fan here who likes to dream...

Anyway, there is a morning show here in Tulsa on 92.1 FM called the Big Mad Morning Show, hosted by a guy named Billy Madison. I think he is coming to the Edge in Dallas to take over the morning slot. He just announced that he is leaving for Dallas in a couple of weeks, and all he would say is that it is a rock station, and that it has the same name as another station in Tulsa. We have an Edge station (Z104.5) here, so it seems logical. I don't know what kind of show he intends to put on there, but his show here is all-talk/comedy/bits, no-music. I preferred his show over Lex & Terry when they were still carried in town.
