You say RADIO is dead??!!!!?. I don't think so! Radio needs to be LOCAL and in touch with the community and people. No I-Pod can relate to a human beyond playing his or hers favorite songs. A RADIO personality who knows and understands their target audience can relate to those folks. People need and want to connect. If your air personalities can connect with people, your RADIO station will become a part of their life and be far more powerful than any I-Pod. A SWEEPER radio station with a voiced tracked jock from another market who's talking points are pop culture and water cooler stuff cannot win against an I-pod or a local radio station. Now, my thoughts on Arbitron. They are funded by Clear Channel, Cox Radio, a few other national Radio companies and the ad agencies. So who's plate are they gonna' break. A local radio station who can't afford their fees or the giant radio companies that pay them MILLIONS of dollars every year. Hey, this is AMERICA. Anything can be bought and sold, and is everyday and I'm ok with that. As long as the ad agencies buy into it, we have to live with it. I look forward to the ARB PPM arriving in Louisville. Now, I will say this, When we get a business to advertise on WAKY RADIO, they stay with us because we ring their cash register. They make $ and we make $. It's a beautiful thing and it's a Local thing, and local is the only thing that can save radio. L
