Leykis=FBOMB!!!!

Did any of you hear the F-Bomb on Leykis show? Maybe i was half asleep but i thought i heard it. Walter call 211 I WANT TOM OUT OF THE BUILDING NOW! :D

The FCC sure did hear it.. as reported by various radio sites - 5 stations will be cited in the next week based upon complaints.

I'm waiting to see how much they get tagged for.

Sometimes I marvel at what a sick country this is. I'm no fan of Leykis, but to punish a host or a bunch of radio stations because a swear word is accidentally uttered (or just "slips out") on the air - a word that everybody hears a hundred times a day on the street - is just ridiculous.

I'm personally not offended by the F word, but I realize some people are. So I see no problem with prohibiting "dirty" words from being regularly spoken on commercial radio and TV. But really - fines should not be imposed unless there is a pattern of repeated abuse by a host or a station.

I can't find any info on this anywhere. There is a 70 second delay on the show so I find it VERY hard to believe this really happened.

Is there an article? A clip? anything?

A caller dropped the f-bomb on Dennis Prager a couple of years ago. Salem didn't have it on a delay. It ran unnoticed on a 4th tier automated talk station in Palm Springs. No one called to complain.

Interesting. Which five stations? Leykis is no longer syndicated...that deal ended in November of 2006. Most of the FreeFM stations that carried the show changed formats during that time. KLSX is his only outlet, as far as I know.

He's on 105.3 in Dallas, 1550 in San Francisco, some station in Georgia, KISW in Seattle, among a few others. He was syndicated after late 2006; FreeFM in Phoenix and San Diego didn't blow up until Q2 '07, for example.

He's an employee of CBS and they handle the show, although I think WW1 still handles some of the distribution to non-CBS stations.

F-Bomb....Janet Jackson's right nipple....I will be so glad when someone finally sticks a fork in this damn FCC and turns it over.....
