Open phones today and Tom is back from vacation. Caller inevitably asks him "WHAT IS UP IN SEATTLE TOM? THE BUZZ IS GONE! They're playing some damn country music station, there's nothing!"

Here was Tom's response:

"Yep, well - I'm getting a lot of email about this, but, I was out of the country, in fact I was in Carta Hena Colombia most of this week, we were running reruns earlier in the week, so I was not here when it happened. So I don't know, you would really have to call the radio station. Again I've been out of the country so I'm really a little behind the 8 ball here but you can hear our show live from 3 to 8 pm Pacific time on our website..."

The caller said something about that not helping in the car on the drive home...

"... I completely understand, believe me I was given NO notice, I knew nothing about it and - even if I HAD something to say about it - I would not say it while I am on the company airwaves. I will say it at a future date, but not now."

A later caller did mention some of the above points, pointing disgruntled listeners to the two websites organizing Seattle listeners, http://www.bringbacktomleykis.com and http://www.wewantleykis.com

Tom said he is a pro and will not denigrate any station while he's on in any capacity, but continually talked like there is something better around the corner. Optimism in the face of defeat, confidence in his success and impending clearance on another station, or inside information, dunno. The latter two certainly are possible, though. And when that happens, he says, he'll rip into Entercom. Of course, they recently dumped him in Portland when MAX 910 went up in flames, but Infinity came to his rescue with Johnson 970. BTW, they also run Phil Hendrie 7-10, and the rest of the week is All Comedy Radio. Leykis' numbers must be rather sizable considering the station is a wasteland the rest of the day.

Talk on other boards right now is centering mainly around a lot of people reporting having spoken with "Sgt Hairclub" who adamantly states that staff at the Buzz level had nothing to do with any of these recent events, that all the sweeping changes (including the Leykis situation) were decisions made over their heads at Entercom (rather obvious but) and that they are campaigning like madmen to get Tom onto some other station live from 3 to 7 because they know if they don't someone else will...

A humorous side note, someone on the supersecreturl forum seems to have decided from some of my comments here that *I* am BJ Shea! hahahahahahaha

I've been called a lot of things before, but that's a new one!

Good to see Tom's a bit smarter than Hoo-Hoo Howie...Probably a good idea not to talk badly about the company who airs your show, even in tape delay, and may someday get you back on live.

BTW, I've never been to Colombia...Seems like a strange place for a vacation. Anything there besides coffee beans and coke traficking???

Colombia has a surplus of REALLY HOT Latina babes who are really gracious to meet older American men with lots of cash who are not in the drug business.

And you are speaking the honest, beautiful truth, you H-Hole. Good luck on the morning gig.
