Funny Tom Leykis rant on KTAR:

First reaction: who cares what Tom Leykis thinks? Second reaction: how many heard what Tom Leykis said? Third reaction: There's nothing more pathetic than a 50-year old talk show host talking about boobies.

yup, yup, and yup.
Stern's 53. when will he quit talking about boobies?
Maybe when people stop tuning in by the millions perhaps?

People rip off Stern (like Leykis) because it is a successful style of broadcasting. Leykis' show doesn't suck because he talks about getting laid per se, it's because it's not really that interesting... Stern's show is unpredictable, whereas with Leykis, it is literally the same show every day of every week--throw out a question that has to do with relationships, why women suck, why men are superior, how to get action without spending much money, how to dump a 'broad' after x amount of time, etc and then solicit calls for the remainder of the hour and occasionally argue with people that may or may not be staged callers... it's a simple formula--and as the ratings will show, garbage in, garbage out.

I'll take washed up, has-been, raspy voiced broadcasters for 800, Alex.

Yep, and you'd probably also take $17 mil for 5 years to do the same show you complain about

Sorry kid, I actually have some integrity, I prefer to not steal from other hosts and do crappy radio that barely gets a one share.

Perhaps, but here in LA, it's far bigger than a one-share. I doubt his Albuquerque affiliate is the main source of cash for the new deal with CBS.

Leykis is irrelevant. He talks about getting laid but it's a safe bet his 350 pound frame never does. He sold out when he gave up doing serious talk for b.s.

Again, hardly irrelevant in LA, which last time I checked was market #2 and #1 in billing. And you're right; he and everyone else in this biz who gets fired from a job should remain unemployed rather than adapt their schtick to make a living.
