LG73 CKLG Vancouver

These have been 2 really great frequencies to DX from. Its usually pretty easy to grab stations right at dusk that are daytimers. DXing on 690 requires WLW having its IBOC off.

Since 2010 I've logged

On 690:
WZAP - Bristol, VA @ 10kw daytime
WELD - Fischer, WV @ 3.1kw daytime

On 940:
WGFP - Webster, MA @ 1kw daytime
WINE - Brookfield, CT @ 0.6kw daytime
WKGM - Smithfield, VA @ 3.1kw nighttime
WGRP - Greenville, PA @ 2 watts nighttime (According to the FCC)

WGRP has been caught running higher power at night, altough the FCC document only states 26 watts which would still be impressive to catch. But I have a feeling they were accidentally running at daytime power of 1kw when I logged them because it was just too clear.

Mario,
Yes, I too, listened to CKLG AM 73 from Vancouver BC. I remember in the mid 1960's it came in almost like a local station. I was living down the Peninsula and had some slight interference from neighboring KCBS at 740 from San Francisco.
CKLG played top 40 hits and I wrote to them. I got on their mailing list and collected their top 40 survey for about two years. The survey was about 3-1/2" wide and about 8" long. It came in a different color each week like the KLIV AM 1590 San Jose survey that I also collected.
