Radionsight is reporting that JVC, the new owners of WKJI on 96.1, will flip it to Country next Tuesday. They plan to change the call to WJVC. It will be known as My Country. There will be 10,000 songs in a row.
Perhaps this is the reason WALK lately has not been broadcasting its HD2, Long Island Country.
With Thunder Country in NJ recently coming to 106.3 FM, and WDBY in the Danbury CT area flipping a year ago to Kicks 105, many parts of LI can now hear one or more country stations.
This seems overdue. LI has not had its own country station since WMJC flipped to hot a/c. I believe that was over 10 years ago.

Will this be audible on the streets of Manhattan?
