Liars and FCC applications

We know Commission staff looks the other way with Calvary Chapel applications filed by local groups to traffic to the main organization, winning as a "local" applicant and never building a local studio.

What does the FCC do when someone pays local groups or non existant groups to file applications? Front pays the engineer and attorney using a local (sometimes non existing name).

Many groups are claiming localism to get credit even if not existing 24 months prior to the application.

The Bloomington Knights Of Columbus Home
BNPED 20071022ASS 175949 Bloomington Indiana

“The Bloomington Knights of Columbus Home Association”. The Indiana Secretary of State indicates this entity has the current status “revoked” and lists the revoked status date as 1970. Not incorporated and not existing as a corporation.

The Indiana Secretary of State lists a For Profit entity with a similar name which has an active status : “The Bloomington Knights Of Columbus Home Association, Inc.”

The misrepresentation relates to the board makeup and actual location with the misrepresentation being the localism claim which is not reflected in the board makeup as listed with the Indiana Secretary of State. Additionally, The Indiana Secretary of State indicates the entity does not exist and the application does use Corporation or Incorporated to describe the entity. Misrepresentation issues include true party in interest.

Father Pettit Home Association BNPED 20071022AXI 175235 Peru Indiana

The Indiana Secretary of State indicates no such entity exists.

Mary’s Children, Inc BNPED 20071022AUE 172668 Elletsville Indiana

The applicant claims localism and lists many local persons who are a party to the entity which lists a local address.

The Indiana Secretary of State has the Corporate address as Washington Indiana and has none of the local persons who are listed in the application listed on the Corporation paperwork which was updated in May of 2007. No current changes are reflected.

Summit Seekers, Inc BNPED 20071022AXE. Laurel Indiana

The Indiana Secretary Of State lists Bob Teipen as the contact person and has the corporate address as his office. The application lists exclusively Indianapolis addresses except for a single member of the board (33%) in a nearby town. The Indiana Secretary of State lists all members at Indianapolis and does not list the local address of one member for which the group claims localism. This information was updated in May of 2007 has no local address.

The "front" wishes to serve Connersville IN with the application.

It is amazing that you post this after all the applications with your name on them. Even saw your name mentioned in a few radio trade publications, after the FCC filings were published.

I will say that there sure are a lot of non-profit groups that "came out of the wood work" so to speak in this window. Everybody and their mother and their cousin had a non-profit that filed 10 apps.

And in some cases, they used their mothers or their cousins or their wives to file 10 (or 20, or 30) more applications!

I've got to say that after reading the latest notice by the FCC regarding this issue, one has to wonder who's left over there off of 12th St NW with any brains whatsoever.....

If someone's still there that can think, why not DISQUALIFY EVERY ENTITY that abuses the process of these filings?

If the FCC was really serious, all of those "extra applications" that are currently taking time away from Commission resources (while they sort through the avalanche of NCE apps) would go away!

We might just get back to a fair and open process.....whoa! The public's airwaves might come back to the rightful owners.

The law is very clear. Wrongful, misleading and those that file false information is punishable under federal code....just look at the part where you put your signature on the FCC application.

The problem is two-folded. NOBODY has the will to pull the trigger. And, there are separate rules depending on your social order.

Like Scott points out, there are abuses, and yes those folks should be held accountable. But I also hold Congress and the FCC responsible for being the enablers. If Congress or the FCC were parents, they could be easily compared to Brittany's efforts.
