Liberal Talk on WGST

More evidence that Kim "may I have another sir" Peterson has been totally neutered by currrent management. Kimmer's fill ins on Labor Day will be left wing extremist, Cynthia McKinney apologists Don White and Coz Carson!

Not surprised at the choice, Randy Bloomquist is an avowed Rush hater, not to mention a closet liberal (among other things) I'm sure Kimmer vehemently protested the decision, under his breath after Randy left the room.

this should be good. A guy so bat-crazy, who once tried to jump off a bridge, and was so clueless McKinney called him a 'fool' with a live mic, (that made national news) and a guy who so far out there even 'Air Loaf' on former Air America Radio is scared of him!!

I'm willing to bet we hear the terms ' living wage' and 'reparations' 20 times apiece by the 5:00 news break ;)

I applaud WGST though. It takes a set to let these guys have the mic for a couple hours in the first place.

Too bad they will do the same thing thier counterparts on the right do everyday, talk over the callers, use the dump button, and cut off thier calls when they make too much sense....

This might be a good move for WGST. I think some may look at them and they appear to be too conservative, compared to WSB. GST has Fox News, and Rush, while WSB has CNN news and other than Hannity, most ofWSB's hosts don't toe the GOP line (Boortz is a Libertarian and Savage is something but he definitely isn't a republican). In other words WSB is seen as an Independent station (with conservative leanings), while GST is a GOP-Conservative station (or at least by programming). In other words WSB's talk programming caters to a wider audience of opinions while GWST is centered on a specific group of opinions and the others be damned.

Does anyone understand where I am going with this?

I think gst's problem is that they got all their talent poached by WSB a few years ago save Rush and have yet to do anything about it. It's tough to loose Boortz and Clark and replace them with Kimmer and many in the morning. I used to listen all the time. Now I listen to Rush on podcast on the way home.

Not too many folks beating down the door for liberal talk. Otherwise Air America wouldn't have problems paying bills.

Right but what I am getting at is even llberals will listen to WSB because they get to hear Boortz and Savage bash Bush and the Republicans at least once a show.

Ideology has nothing to do with the woes of WGST. Tom Hughes is boring, Denny is a buffoon and Kimmer is unlistenable.

Was it Cos Carson that had a Saturday show on GST a few years back? Was he the one that had an on air "melt down"?

Now that is real interesting . . . Does this partially explain some of the station changes over the past few months? It always puzzles me as to why so many Jewish folks are politically liberal.

Oh this is a brilliant move.. Coz (I Hate all white people)Carson! Just brilliant, next lets have Cynthia(White people suck)Mc Loser do a show here as well. These two will get thier's, If not now, in the afterlife. Geez, I so despise racist's, and bigot's.

Show me all the billboards and TV spots for 1690, and then talk to me about how unviable liberal talk is.

Funny how supposedly all the radio executives, according to some on this board and Brian Maloney, are
all "closet liberals" waiting to get out in screaming blue-statish, yet all the radio stations they run are
hew-the-line conservative. Fans of Air America accuse them all of being right wingers. They can't both be right.

You mean Both ( 2 ) of the Air America listeners? ;)

We have already discussed this ad nauseum.

AAR failed here due to it's programming, not due to some wild 'conspiracy theory' involving the new owner or due to some 'lack of promotion'.

They had the Creative Loafing, the south's 'Village Voice' weekly running ad's every week, and even the editor did a show on AAR...Franken came down to personally stump for the station..The AJC and All Access gave them plenty of pub...

Now, 1380 WAOK has some liberal N/T hosts, and they have been on the air for awhile now.

I'm personally glad that GST is giving up the mic to these guys. I'll actually tune in!

But c'mon, Coz? He couldn't even keep his show on 1380 'cause he was toooo far out there.

And Don White? Denny's personal whipping boy? There's some high powered entertainment, right there...
