Liberman Broadcasting Getting into NYC

Is it possible that they can move the LPTV closer to NYC? I recall reading something about a 50 mile rule regarding LPTV stations, but I don't remember the details, except that Channel 6 (what is now Pulse 87) used it to move into NYC from Long Island. Perhaps that's the intention here?

The rule is that an LPTV station doesn't have to cover its city of license, but a minor modification merely requires that there be some minute area of overlap between the new contour and the old.

WASA-LP has a construction permit for 0.06 kW on channel 25 from 4 Times Square, and two applications to boost to 15 kW on channel 25. The CP they have now would provide a useless signal, and I would have waited for the 15 kW to be granted before buying...

0.06 kw?? Geez. Would that signal even make it out of Midtown? Heck, would it be visible *in* midtown? I know there's some other LPTV's that are digital in NYC...channel 3 and another one..channel 10 I think? I've never gotten a signal from either of them.

What does this station broadcast anyway? Telemarketing? Jesus-casting?

Right now, WASA-LP 64 is all infomercials I'm told. Liberman will take it Spanish, like the rest of the stations that company owns. I don't know much more than that.

I don't know that 10 is on the air, but 3 is. Low-VHF digitals are impossible to receive to begin with, I can't imagine a low-powered low-VHF digital. I think both have applied for UHFs (45 and 50).

I've heard nothing ever about WMBQ-LD being on the air. Are you sure it's not WTNH-DT or something you're seeing instead?

I'm not doubting that you're seeing signal, I just thought that I would have heard something about a signal in New York City on channel 10 before now.

I haven't heard anything about 10 being on the air in NYC either, but since I saw signal, I assumed that was it. I haven't seen picture though, so it could possibly be WTNH. It would be plausible that I would be receiving a trace signal from them from my location.
