"Liberty Radio" launches

Great! Just what we need.... another right-wing outlet to pollute the airwaves and peoples' minds. Fortunately, like WFYL their coverage stinks.

Seems like a cart before the horse. The minds of those who seek out the angry old dude talk are already predisposed to be what they are. This little flea powered speck isn’t what’s polluting minds.

I’m surprised that you would say this openly considering that you were chief engineer for WNTP for so many years.

You see, to me it was just another format. Engineering is engineering: the format is immaterial. The job is largely the same. So, that I worked at WNTP for 15 years before retiring, does not indicate that I agreed with the format. I've worked many formats over the years that I didn't care for. I spent 10 years at Bloomberg in NYC but really had no interest in business news. I've worked modern country, too, that I don't particularly care for. Like I said, engineering is pretty much the same regardless of the format. I always tried to do my best for a station whether I enjoyed its programming or not.

I'm a Long Island honky who moved here to PA to build a house. I'd listen to WRTI's jazz here -- they were full-time jazz then -- and only ONCE got annoyed when Dr. Reggie Bryant's show 'Catharsis' came on. It interrupted my ceiling, joist and plumbing work. Boo. Hiss.
I repeat: Only ONCE was I PO'ed. After that I was hooked. I'd put down the power saw and earplugs and goggles and make a drink and unwind.
He talked to his audience, and suggested topics that had merit to me -- a different perspective. He did not scream or scold or tell me what an @$$#ole I was. And I had to look up the meaning of a few words each episode of his to see what I'd heard.
The feeble 'radio' airwaves need more talk show hosts such as Bryant to allow us folks in the 'middle' of the political pendulum to continue our existence without feeling guilt. Until then : I don't hear music ; the off switch goes 'click'.
