Liberty's John Malone & iHeart

A while back, Liberty John Malone was talking about buying part of iHeart. Now it sounds like he's formally asking the government about any potential anti-trust issues:

The article says he now owns about 5% of iHeart. He wants more. The goal is to put Pandora, XM, and iHeart together to compete against Spotify, Apple Music, and other music streaming companies. I also imagine he's hoping it will put him in a better negotiating position with regards to music royalties.

I know it's hard for some people to understand that iHeart is a company a media investor would want. But if you look at the streaming platform they've build, coupled with some of the biggest radio stations in major markets, it's a pretty formidable company.
