Libtalk closing in on move to 1480?

Sources say that Communicom, not surprisingly, plans to drop the liberal talk format on 1010 effective January 1, but KXXT staffers are working to close a deal that would move the format to KPHX, where All Comedy Radio's LMA/option to buy expires in early 2006. Also not surprising, ACR's sale of its Kansas City O&O earlier this fall doesn't speak highly of its finances and ability to continue brokering affiliates.

While it has been widely discussed here that the Molina family had been flirting with the idea of returning the "Super X" Spanish language format previously in place, an murky picture is beginning to emerge involving key players at James Crystal Phoenix taking over KPHX via a lease arrangement similar to ACR's, and would simulcast 1010 and 1480 as soon as ink is put on paper, allowing listeners to make the switch before 1010 ostensibly flips to pay-for-pray come 1/1. Developing.

What? No more "Blondestar" commercials; Phoney phonecalls; brokered health-talk and polish music on 14-80? Maybe KPHX will become the first spanish language Airhead America station en los Estados Unidos?!

Its a bit repetitive, but always good for a laugh(unlike 1310, which is always good for a laugh, but in an unintentional way)

Apparently KXXT will be run by JCE, hence as libtalk, past the original 1/1 cutoff. How long, don't know.

No news on who is raising the money needed to move.
