Libtalk: "FCC challenges fall on deaf ears"

http://ltradio.blogspot.com

>>The efforts by disgruntled listeners who have petitioned the FCC regarding political bias on conservative talk radio stations have met with indifference by the governing body.

Complaints were filed to the FCC that KSTE and KFBK in Sacramento were politically biased, "However, the Commission pointed out that it does not involve itself in such matters."

A complaint about WISN in Milwaukee was dismissed (Rush's fill in Mark Belling referred to immigrants
as "wetbacks"

FCC: "This holds true even if the material broadcast is insulting to a particular minority or ethnic group in the station's community...if there is to be free speech,it must be free for speech that we abhor and hate as well as for speech that we find tolerable and congenial."

Randi Rhodes and Rush's fill in, each protected...as long as nobody jokes about killing the Commander in Chief.

A complaint about WTVN in Columbus was also dismissed...WTVN runs conservative talk; until a few months back they had a sister station that ran libtalk but it got pulled for more conservative talk
