What will happen come 2006 or sooner when Howard leaves for Satellite? Is it at all possible that someone from the past returns? Will they just grab some unknown? Will Barsky and his crew make a comeback...I guess without Ben since he is now Rocco the Janitor. My bet is on that happening. Thoughts?

Replacing Stern & his gang with Barsky & his gang would be a bit like replacing Oprah with Tootie from "Facts of Life."

I'm not a Barsky-hater or anything. I just didn't think his shows were very good. He brought nothing original to the table and his humor was awful. (Paying his in-studio pals to laugh hysterically at every joke made it painfully obvious I wasn't laughing.) These are my opinions, of course, but...well, let's face it: My opinions of his shows were apparently shared by a lot of listeners!

You're not a Barsky hater? Read your post! Boy i'd hate to see what you have to say when you really hate someone.LOL. Although I thought Barsky did a great show I don't think he will be Stern's replacement. They should probably bring in someone new to the market and develop him.If they don't bring in someone new,do you think they could bring in another syndicated show to the market like Mancow or Bob and Tom? Or will they carry David Lee Roth out of New York?

I don't need to read my post. I wrote it. I know how I feel and I know what I said: I don't hate the guy. His show just sucked (ratings back me up here, man). Don't make me keep repeating that please.

If WYSP carries DLR, they'll be totally screwing themselves. WMMR is making serious inroads and if the folks at WYSP are silly enough to think rock fans are gonna listen to a buffoon like Roth when they can tune to P&S, they'll be displaying an amazing inability to read the market. Maybe they'll just flip YSP to Jack. LOL.

I'm not sure who they can bring in but it's gonna have to be good. Otherwise, we're looking at an amazing shift in the morning landscape around here. Mornings will probably be dominated by Tom Joyner and KYW!

You can bet your ass that Infinity will go with what they know.....syndication.
Hopefully, it won't be Bob & tom ( they failed in harrisburg after 1 year)
DLR could be something fresh. Mancow Mueller, since I don't know where he is carried here in PA, I have never heard him. But I place no faith in the revival of Barsky.

God please, NO BARSKY. Don't even think it. I really, really, really doubt we'll ever hear him again in Philly, but stranger things have happened. This town does have a habit of recycling old shows and personalities.

I doubt Barsky will replace Stern at YSP. First of all he doesn't fit the stations current target of 18-24 men, he skews older. He would fit more of an MGK type station, but they've already got DeBella. As far as P&S's show,it's nothing special. Barsky's show at MMR was better and funnier. Just my opinion, I'm sure you disagree.

You are correct sir. Actually, I didn't hate Barsky. He was sometimes funny, usually semi-funny, but he could have been better with more effort. Having Ben Maxwell and Vinnie the Crumb as laugh puppets was really annoying. I hate that fake, over the top laughter. Plus he is one of those jocks who think if they just keep talking it will get interesting. That's pure ego. Debella used to have that disease, but he has reigned it in in recent years. Finally, Barsky almost never had guests on his show. Preston and Steve have many gueste and are more disiplined and prepared. They seem to have a plan most of the time, plus, Steve Morrison is very quick. Much quicker than Barsky. In the end it's a matter of preference. Barsky did well at Y and actually had some good books at MMR. But he was never a good fit there. He had no real connection with the rest of the MMR staff. No synergy, if you will. Preston and Steve feel like they are a part of MMR, not just a show that happens to be on MMR right now. I think that is important for a station that puts as much emphasis on personality as MMR does.

Yes I agree that P&S have many guests on the show. TOO MANY GUESTS. It becomes a crutch. It's a time killer plus alot of their guests are B list celebs. Who cares if they are going to interview the actor from Smallville? I agree I think Steve Morrison can be funny at times, but I feel that his humor sound s forced. Barsky is naturally funny IMHO. As far as Barsky not having Synergy with the staff, I don't know because I didn't work there.I know that on occasion it sounded like he was at odds with management.I do agee with you, in the end it's a matter of preference.
