It seems to be a reflection that it's much cheaper to make as South Park called it last night, "informative murder porn" featuring non-union talent and cops and lawyers droning about cases getting on camera for free, than tying down C-listers in three weeks in Vancouver along with having to deal with writers and such. The entire Snapped/ID garbage presentation and the monotone announcers who have no business except being in the industrial voiceover business has watered down to LMN; I pretty much expected it as A&E gutted Lifetime and their networks away from any pretense of empowering women.
I remember when A&E used to have Inspector Morse and Sherlock Holmes shows. Got several on VHS with commercials.
Lifetime had Intimate Portrait, women's movies, some women's talk programs, Unsolved Mysteries reruns, and of course in the 1990s, Supermarket Sweep.
LMN used to have MOVIES. Just movies.
All 3 of these channels have the "Network Decay Curse" really bad now.
They've turned Saturdays into all-non-movie dreck, all the time. I'd rather they show Little Rascals, Three Stooges, and maybe Bowery Boys films than the stuff that belongs on Lifetime proper, Oxygen, WE, or ID.
