Actually most traffic has moved to KU or KA. Some countries have even banned C-band's use, or are pushing existing C-band users to migrate away within a year. The reason? Same as the U.S.; C-band spectrum is valuable to Cell/PCS provider$.

The LDS Church ("BYU TV") has used C-band for many years, originally because of early fears of Ku-frequency path loss. They still are using C-band on feeds to highly-humid downlink areas, as well as where they need a global beam for wider coverage.
The whole system goes away on 12-31-2021. They will do it all via internet.

Not all C-Band is going away entirely. Just as with the TV repack, there will just be less C-Band spectrum available. Many program providers have renegotiated deals with satellite carriers to allow for the transition, where they go up on two different satellites or transponders, then their affiliates are supposed to transition over to the new one by a certain date.

I think he meant the Church's C-band system is going away, rather than that the whole band is going away. They've been moving to internet transmission about as quickly as they can.
