Lights Out For "Enlightened"

All things considered, it was a well written and acted show, but it reached a conclusion this year with the outing of Amy's evil company as a corporate wrong-doer, and Amy publicized in the LA Times as courageous. Tyler got to keep his girlfriend, and they imply that Amy and Levi may be repairing their relationship, and getting back together. So it was a good time to end it.

In fact, with the conclusion of most of the plot threads, I suspect the producers knew, or suspected that the cancellation was coming.

Its still a shame it had to end, though, despite the well timed and probably intentional wrap up of the major plots. It is probably the best written show on television now, save for "Girls", and had really found its footing in the second season.

Its too bad no one watched it, even by HBO standards. In all honesty, I only started watching it midway through the 2nd season because Patton Oswalt started tweeting about how great it was, but by then, it was too late to save.
