Like Magic, Aspire Strikes TWC Deal Before Debut

One could do worse than having a well-regarded Oscar nominee (Fisburne) hosting a slate of movies, and a young Grammy winner (Spaulding) hosting a night of music. I don't know if it'll get Magic's new channel ratings, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

With four urban-targetting networks, traction will certainly be tough, especially if you're last to the party. They'll really need to work their magic (pun intended) to get recognized by the viewing public who is otherwise unaware that the channel exists.

This is mostly a cable venture, isn't it? I couldn't find a list of affiliations anywhere. But you're right--some marketing is definitely needed.
