Liking what I'm hearing on WBPT 106.9 the Eagle

8)Have you noticed, they're playing more of the power balads and harder stuff and adding more tunes to their playlist? I actually heard the Doors and Molly Hatchet one day this week! Summit Media if they'll just hang in there and keep adding more hits to the list, that station will take off and keep on soaring!

Those songs aren't new to The Eagle, they just rotated their platoon. Although, Media Base does say they played Rob Base "It Takes Two" and Chicago "Colour My World", so maybe they are going in a different (re: weird) direction. Either that or somebody screwed up while scheduling the music.

The Eagle is feeling the competition, and reacting to tweak a bit. Unfortunately, they are apparently tapping the same employment agency another group is using where the winning criteria is age versus talent. Hmmm, isn't that illegal?

Who is their competition? The Vulcan primarily modern rock, and can't be heard more than 20 or 25 miles from their antenna. The Peach is all 60's, 70's and 80's Top 40 hits, and their coverage is limited to south of Shades Mountain and into Shelby County. Magic is female-friendly. Am I missing something?

The station averaged upper 3s 12+ when WZRR was still rock and usually pulling between 2.5 and 3 shares themselves. Eagle has picked up the majority of ZRRs listeners, with a few bleeding off to Vulcan. Now that Rock 99 is gone, Eagle broadened and adjusted their library to fill the hole. Eagle is the areas rock station now. Lets see if the "brain trust" that put Ya'll 97.3 on the air (same company) is smart enough to leave well enough alone and maybe promote it abit
