It was very pleasing to hear the short interview Lil Jon had with a morning show here in Phoenix radio!
To conserve time, I'll just get to the HIGHLIGHTS of the interview.
Lil Jon was asked:
You DJ? Tell me what people can hear at a Lil Jon party with Lil Jon on the turntables?
Lil Jon: Everything from Jay-Z to Black Eyed Peas "i gotta feeling woo hoo...." ha ha ha..
What could people expect from Lil Jon's upcoming projects?
Lil Jon: A lot of collaborations on this next......... even an appearance of David Guetta.....that man does some dope stuff right there boy....... etc.
What is your favorite track that you has produced?
Lil Jon: I'd have to say... right now... SHOTS with LMFAO....!!!!
......Madonna.........???
Lil Jon: She old as hell!!!..............
And to cut to the chase and get to the final questions and conversation;
So at a Lil Jon party, you get to hear a variety of stuff....... but no Madonna.......
Lil Jon: Yeah I'd play some Madonna.........

LOOK AT THIS!!
I mean, this really should be of no surprise since Lil Jon has ALWAYS been into the uptempo sound, and is even a HUGE HUGE part of the times when booty bass, house, and freestyle was big, but it's just interesting to see and hear this from him today, after all that "we've" been through over the years! To hear LIL JON talking about David Guetta, say his favorite track right now is "SHOTS" with LMFAO...etc, this is a good sign! This means that he's not just producing many of these tracks the way he does JUST BECAUSE it's the trend and it may bring in the bucks, but he ACTUALLY LOVES AND ENJOYS the sound! AND- AND!! What makes that exciting is that if this is true for him, then it's only very likely that the same is true for many of the artists who are also jumping in on the sound! There's a true passion for it, and it's more that in the past they were holding back than it is that today they are forcing themselves to change because of new trends!
I like exactly where we are at the moment, but I'm still looking forward to the days when the dance sound continues to increase while people also begin to realize rapping on everything is no longer necessary! I am waiting for the days of more vocal singing and talent on the dance beats, and for new artists who are unclassified with any genre to emerge so we can continue to move on and focus more on the sound than the "techno" and dance definition arguments! We need more vocal r&b/soul artists with meaningful lyrics in the "dance music game" because it seems as many of the electro pop and dance stuff on top 40 is slowly being taken over by rappers or dumb pop singers. The last thing I want is for rappers to take over the dance sound, then the trend dies and things slow back down, and it end results in hip hop somehow re-dominating and living out a second generation, almost back to back. We also do not need anymore songs with the type of sloppy lyrics as heard in Cassie's "lets go crazy".
Anyway, let me stop talking too much - next thing I know I somehow end up getting to work with Cassie on a project and she says "remember what you said about me on the radio boards?..." I think over time I've said more than enough as it is! Anyway, much love to ALL the producers / singers / dj's and others who are reaching out and opening their minds to other styles and forms of music, especially the dance / electronic sound!
