Frequency is done as is some of their staff. What is going on?

Don't know what Frequency is but I do know that BAS Broadcasting out of Fremont was in Findlay yesterday talking to the employees about them being the new owners. Word is that they are buying TTF, CKY and PFX and also the CC Sandusky cluster.

I thought Findlay-Tiffin were merging activities with Lima?

What's up with the staff?

'CKY is the big stick and would think BAS would focus on Sandusky Co, etc...

Findlay/Tiffin are separate from Lima. Haven't heard anything about staff, only that the MM for Findlay would stay involved with the Lima cluster.

If the MM stays in Lima that could suggest they will try and run out of Fremont?

The buzz is they have lost some key players recently.

If BAS buys the Findlay cluster, this will work out much in their favor. It will give them WTTF-AM which they can mold into the Fremont building and WTTF-FM (hence Clear Channel is keeping the WCKY calls) and WPFX-FM in Findlay. Plus a lot of overlaping of signals will help their sales positioning in the market.

This is really good news for Findlay!

The BIG BUCK 106.3 Ottawa will die this Sunday, (1/6), and will be taken over by the programming of The Fox, WFPX, North Baltimore. My snitch at the cluster said nothing about what will wind up on 107.7.

Glad I airchecked Ted Richards on 106.3 this past Friday, as he will start doing afternoons on WOMC-104.3 in Detroit (leaving Jones).

No oldies in West Central Ohio unless you count WRQN-93.5 in Bowling Green/Toledo.

New AC coming to 107-7. New PD is Shawn Powers, who has Toledo ties.

So what time is the big buck getting "bucked"?

Now, I take it the fox simulcast is only Temporary? When 107.7 does switch what will become of 106.3?

Another oldies station done gone thanks to CC downsizing. Used to have personalities a few years ago before switching to Jones Sattellitte.

WRQN does not stream last time I was at their site.

Motor City's oldies stations WOMC and CKWW-AM 580 do stream and sound fairly good.

No oldies in Dayton(sans variety hits FLY 92.9) which only leaves WDJO down in Cincy.

Best oldies online aside from WDJO is "Retro Radio" Wenesday evenings and Saturday afternoons on WJCU out of John Carrol University near Cleveland.

What is sad about The Buck is that in recent months it sounded like a toilet.

The aircheck I made this past Friday has two spots running at the same time (twice in morning drive). The weather firing off in the middle of Ted "The Bear" Richards and then rejoining in the middle of a song. Dead air. Two jingles playing. It just sounded bad.

My impression was that NOBODY at the station cared.

Sadly, as my wife said, there is always the Channel 6 and 7 on XM. But it's yet another nail in the coffin for radio. I say this only because as I tuned around this afternoon, (Sunday), there was more of this stuff to be found on other stations, not necessarily owned by CC. So I have to wonder if anyone is watching the chicken coup.... or if they care.

That's been true for quite some time. Last time I listened in PM drive, a song would end, then the traffic report and a spot would play, then they would rejoin the bird about a minute into the next song.

WPFX website "under construction" .....black leters on white background. WBUK oldies website still up but no streaming when you click on WBUF-NF (what in the dickens is an "NF" ? ...Not Fooled by CC's B.S. ? ha-chi-chi-chi-chi-chi!)
