LIN Media on the block?

The owner of WWLP, WPRI and WTNH/WCTX could soon be in play. LIN Media parent HM Capital says it will no longer invest in media properties and will look to maximize the value of its existing media properties, which I interpret as meaning they will either take steps to improve performance or sell. In the case of TV, despite (or perhaps because of) anticipated strong political ad revenues a number of groups have been changing hands of late after a lengthy dry spell for transactions, and perhaps this is as good a time as any for HM Capital to cash out.
