LIN Stations Go Dark On Mediacom Cable Systems

... but they aren't giving Mediacom subscribers on the Gulf Coast a reprieve so we can watch WALA Fox 10 (Mobile, AL) for Tropical Storm Lee coverage?

As I mentioned before, negotiations always come up before big ticket TV events. And it seems that hurricane season is such an example.

Personally, if LIN's Norfolk stations get a reprieve due to Irene, I think it'll be a good idea to suspend the dispute in Mobile, as it looks like major flooding from Lee will dominate the news next week.

DirecTV was uplinking various local stations for Irene coverage. Our WCTI-12 (New Bern, NC) got uplinked too, as well as WWBT, WJLA, WABC, WCBS, and WBZ.

Mediacom customers in Mobile should have other options on cable TV for news related to the storm besides WALA-TV such as the other local TV stations in Mobile, CNN, MSNBC, the FOX News Channel, and the Weather Channel. I hope WeatherNation becomes available on cable TV in this area soon.
