Lincoln Financial Media's WLYF in Miami

I happened to stumble over Lincoln Financial Media's AC WLYF 101.5 LITE FM in Miami earlier last year, but I didn't really like it at first when I first looked at their playlist because they happen to play stuffs that not many other AC stations play, I wasn't familiar with the stuffs at all, and I didn't know what they sounded like, so I didn't like WLYF at all. I thought it was a weird AC station that happened to be at the topped of the market in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood market since it's Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood strongest AC signal while the other strong AC signal CBS WEAT-FM Sunny 104.3 covers the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area north of Miami that I thought had a better sound than WLYF.

Later last year, I looked over WLYF once again and realized they play some good songs that I know or at least something by an artist that I know and I start listening to WLYF for a little bit and it didn't sound bad at all, so I'm starting to like WLYF. It really sounds good. After that, I didn't really listen to WLYF for a while nor checking their playlist on yes.com neither.

I actually start listening to WLYF when I got bored of Christmas music on other AC stations last Christmas. I didn't realize they're the only AC that doesn't do all-Christmas at all on weekdays, they do all-Christmas on weekends only. They only sprinkle in Christmas songs on weekdays and they do it like that all the way till Christmas day. When I was exploring other AC stations to see what their Christmas playlist looks like, I realized that this station didn't play all-Christmas at all.

When I actually start listening to WLYF, it wasn't a bad station at all, it sounds really good. They just happen to play a different selection of songs that fits the AC format very well along with something that we already know. Their playlist sounds a lot better than they look based on what you know from other AC stations. Listen to it for a while then you'll like it.

Here's a sample playlist from 11:05PM on 1/7/12 to 2:05AM on 1/8/12 from yes.com with the details edited out.
