There's always a lot of talk on these board about PD's, jocks, GM's, even some salespeople, but the people behind the scenes are never mentioned and never get any notoriety.
Well, one of those behind-the-scenes people passed away over the weekend.
Linda Arnold was the traffic director at the Forever properties in Altoona from Day 1. She did traffic for a long time. She did traffic for WFBG AM/FM back in the days when Dick DiAndrea was sitting in the big office.
She lost her battle with cancer on Saturday.
She was a tough cookie, but the best traffic directors always are! They don't let the salespeople get away with lousy orders!
She will definitely be missed. Think about all those people that you depend on, but don't take home the commission checks and don't get the notoriety of being an "air personality."
