line-up changes at the ticket?

Anyone hear the rumor that the big announcement this Thursday on the Ticket pertains to a major line-up change? I can't imagine that to be the case.

Maybe they can get rid of everybody and hire some real sports talk talent from bigger markets.

Such as? Specifics, kindly.

And I believe we're still waiting for a response to Mike Shannon's huge list of Dallas talent you were going to respond to?

Yeah that's got be it RT, get some of that "real" talent so they can raise those low numbers up to ESPN's huge numbers. ::)

Here, Here... Although at this point I doubt we will ever get to read that response. And even if it does magically appear, I'm not expecting anything good from it.

Yeah I have read that on the Bob and Dan.Net fourms.

Moving the Hardline to 11-2 to complete with The Playmakers, and Having BaDD Radio moving to compete with Grandpa Urine.. That might work. But are BaDD Radio ready for Drive Time..

Like who prey tell!!!!!

I'm sure Cumulus wants to get rid of people who bring in about 24 to 28 million dollars A YEAR!!!!!

RT, I'll be sure to say a prayer for you.

How about a guy like Scott Ferrall from Sirius Satellite Radio and SNY in New York who actually knows something about sports, can effectively communicate and would be a big improvement over any of the local, Dallas putz collection.

He sucks, but even if I by some random freakish phenomenon were to agree--how much does he need to come here, and where do you put him in the lineup?

After you answer those two questions, you only have three slots to fill. Assuming you're going to let the unparalleled Scott Ferrall work solo. Use your budget wisely.

Another person on the rise on SNY is former New York Jets quarterback, Ray Lucas. If you have not seen him, think of Ray Lucas as similar to Michael Irvin or Deion Sanders but, with far superior communication skills, better
grammar, better communicator, better ability to explain the technical nuances of football, more intelligent and a much smaller ego. Also, Ray Lucas is not a thug or a junkie. He is a football analyst future broadcasting star on the rise and would be superior to any of the bozos in DFW. Ray Lucas will end up, at some point, doing color analysis of NFL games on CBS or Fox. He has that much potential.

You can also add Warner Wolf as better than any of the local DFW sports turkeys. Warner does a talk show on WEPN, New York, as well as sports on the syndicated Imus show. Warner Wolf is one of the best television and radio sportscasters of all time.

R-T, if you don't already live in the Big Apple, you should move there since that's where all the talented people are. [EDIT]

[EDIT-inflammatory]

Wasn't Warner Wolf a WB cartoon character? I think he was in a few "Merrie Melodie" shorts back in the mid-late 40's

Anyone see the video of Warner spitting his false teeth out during a broadcast? Warner's best days are way behind him, how would he appeal to The Ticket demo?

I really enjoy listening to New York radio when in the area especially the shows that take a lot of calls. Dallas may be a smaller market but it isn't second rate compared to New York.

Ray Lucas is a snorefest of the highest order. I mean BOR-ING.

He also has ZERO radio skins on the wall.

You failed to answer when the legendary Scott Ferrall would make, and what day part you would place him in. The same is now true of Ray Lucas--but as woeful as he is, I would imagine you could get him for a bag of Doritos. He's a worse broadcaster than he was a quarterback, and he sucked hard as a quarterback.

However, as bad as he was, I'm sure he would have responded to the avalanche of Dallas talent laid before him. You DID claim you were going to respond to that.

Yet you never have.

So far you've named three air personalities. You have yet to establish a budget for them. Also, do you intend for each of these guys to work solo? If so, let us know. If not, how do you plan to pair them up?

You are aware that there are very very few single-host shows that are successful and that the majority of them are teams, right?

I was listening to Hal Jay this morning, while getting ready, heard him and Steve Lamb mention something along the lines that Greggo may have been offered another gig in Denver. If thats the case, I congraulate him on finding a new position.

Oh dear Lord, give it up. Look, I'm sorry they won't hire you for overnight board ops, but come on. They aren't "TRUE" sports talk and if ESPN had a modicum of ascendancy that the little Ticket had, well... they wouldn't have hired Michael Irvin!

I'm just throwing this out there for decency sake... please no jokes about all the eh, "snow" in Denver. Mazel Tov to Captain Hug. Let's hope they streamcast.

1. Then why announce this during Norm's show?! Really, if you want to maximize an announcement of this perceived magnitude, you do it when you are pulling your least amount of numbers?!

2. And if this is the case, I am out. Dan on prime time is nails on the chalkboard. Give me the Throwdown or something like that. But then again, at least it's not GAC. ;D

Didn't the afternoon drive program fka the hardline have a 10 share in their demo in one book this year? Yeah, let's throw them out so we can get guys in here that can "talk sports" ::) And the husky hugging hambonita has a place in Colorado - so the Denver thing would seem to fit. STAY HARD GREGGO!
