kenwood -- I'm sure that syndication is at least being considered, but, if that's the case, it's only going to be if, as you pointed out, Allen is moved, and they fill his shift with something national. No way do I see it during the daypart. That said, I agree with you on letting someone go -- my guess, it's Yorke, unless Cianci declares by the end of June. Still, I'm not the only one bothered by the lack of information from PRO. Where are the numbers that would help explain this? As I've said repeatedly, I can't see Cianci as someone who will be strong in drivetime numbers; listen to his callers -- he doesn't seem to cater to a drivetime demo., unless., again, there are numbers we can't see that say otherwise.

I agree.Cianci in Aft drive doesnt really make sense at this piont. YES, He did Aft drive before but you are right.His listenership is alot older and undiserable to sponsers in an aft drive position.Unless Cianci is strongly considering running for an office and they are transitioning him out and puting Yorke in Place and eventually put Matty in Aft drive.There's something going on. I believe this is temporary.
P.S. I'm not trying to be rude there.

I think they had to move Yorke to midday to make room for his ultra dramatic dead air pauses.
I agree he should be maybe moving back to New York and the safety of his daddy's station... if it still exists that is. Steve Wight saved it once upon a time.

I think you are right. This is the most likely scenario. If Management was forced to only keep one guy, I bet they would keep Cianci.The station really rolls out the carpet for Buddy and they alway seem to have his back. I don't think the station feels that kind of loyalty towards Yorke. The simple fact that they moved Dan to middays kind of proves my point.

So when is this big switch going to happen? I turned on my radio today at about 3 and Dan was still on.

Next Monday. Cianci and his human laughtrack Ron St. Pierre keeps promoting it but Yorke hasn't said a word.

Can't say I blame Dan for not promoting it. He doesn't want a hundred calls coming in asking him what happpened. He would then have to talk about it. It's a topic I am sure that he doesn't want to discuss. However when he starts taking calls next week that is exactly what is going to happen anyway. So in the end it's not doing much good not to discuss it. It's just delaying the pain for a week.

Why would Dan Yorke promote a line-up change that demotes him?
To make matters worse he's being demoted to make room for a convicted felon who needs a hand holder to run his show (even with the hand holder Cianci is so unprofessional ..cell phones, coughing into mikes etc) for him and who's allowed to carry out vindictive personal agendas on-air and without sanction from WPRO management.
Did I hear right yesterday?? Cianci was talking about a tattoo on the arse of Providence's mayor and references his "boyfriend Anthony" in a very derisive way on every show? Does Cianci attack any other pol on personal level like this? No! This is personal and vindictive behavior with Cianci and management let's him go down that road every single show.
For a pro like Dan Yorke it's got to be infuriating to see what gets promoted at WPRO these days.
Hoping Dan talks about the historical evolution/the current devolution of talk radio on his first 10 - 2 show next Monday.
After listening (not much longer) to all the vindictive slime Cianci throws out every day I can't believe management would take offense to some straight talk about the radio industry from Dan Yorke. ;D

Management doesn't get touchy until the topic of conversation IS THEM. We'll see next week what happens. If I'm not busy cutting my toenails I might listen.

It's not Yorke's show.. it's the station's show. I'm sure that he will only speak sweetly about the time change if he is allowed to discuss it at all on the air by management. Unless of course he realizes this is his swan song and locks himself in the studio and tells his loyal followers the truth before he's shut down. Would make a good movie I guess.

I drive by WPRO every few days. When I look at the building I always wonder if the people in there are happy. Sure sounds like a lot of crap goes on behind the scenes there.

With a big political season coming up in RI, they may want to drive FM listeners to 99.7. The average PRO FM or HJY listener does not know who Dan is. They know who Vinny is though.
