Lionel Back In Tampa?

Was streaming Lionel's new Air America show this morning and a caller from Tampa welcomed him "back." It sounded as if a Tampa station was carrying the show, although the caller might have been listening to XM or streaming. I'm far from Tampa, so I'm wondering if any station in the market is carrying Lionel's AAR show or if there's a possibility one might pick him up. Air America feeds the show from 9 am to Noon, ET.

There isn't much room in that market for anything other than conservative blowhards.

WWBA, on a very weak signal, runs Boortz during that time.

Salem-owned WGUL, on a stronger 860, runs entirely syndicated conservative hosts.

Crap Channel owns the most powerful frequencies - 620- sports - and the once great WFLA-970, which is all conservative syndicated.

No room for local shows, no room for anything center or non-conservative.

But some station in the Tampa market was running Lionel's WOR show before he switched to Air America. There's a reference in another thread on (this) Tampa board to Lionel being replaced in the market by the talker who replaced him on the WOR feed (Steve Malzberg). Lionel has been carried by a lot of otherwise conservative stations and he's certainly not a standard "liberal" -- in fact he's being denounced as being "not a liberal" on many of the liberal message boards.

WHNZ carried his night-time show, but I'd bet it was often pre-empted or shortened by the Devil Ray games...
