Lisa was let go by CC Albany today. What do you guys think the next move is? Is Mancow coming to the Channel?

There is alot more to it from my sources. One rumor is because of payola, the other rumor is they were getting worried over there due to The New Edge taking some of there numbers. Either way I think she was a good programmer and hopefully she lands on her feet soon. As far as a replacement is concerned, I dont know....is Mancow gonna come to a smaller market like Albany??? Or does CC have someone there that they will put in that position????

They had a great winter book. It has to be the payola investigation. KISS and WHRL were both named in an online article as to being on Spitzer's list. CC really shouldn't worry about the "New" Edge. That station is a joke like eerything else ABC does. There's no way that station continues for much longer in its current configuration. Mancow's been trying to get an Albany station for a very long time. Don't you think that if Stern was here that his main syndicated rival would want to be as well? Now with Howard gone to satellite it's open season. And how long do we have to suffer through the current Q103?

I have to agree with you on this. As far as how long Q103, with the way the ratings went in the last book I'd say they better do something quick. You can't lose 80% of you listeners and think you're going to get advertising revenue.

I'm amazed though that most of the stations ABC has make a profit, B95,FLY92, Magic 100.9, It would not surprise if this station made a profit or did well in the long run. The format is good the jocks are decent but more importantly, Q103 is going down the drain, and so is the Bone. It's only a matter of time until The top rock stations in the market are Channel, The New Edge and shall I say PYX.

First off Doug (Daniels – EQX a.k.a. ValhallaFRED) how would you know what kind of winter book they (Channel 103.1) had considering that WEQX doesn’t subscribe to Arbitron?! As for The New Edge and ABC as a whole I’d have to ask you…why are you so bitter? After all, you’ve got a great gig up there in Vermont. You’re right next to a fairly large market and you get to work in a converted Victorian house. The New Edge is the first usable format to ever be on that frequency, and ABC (ALBANY Broadcasting) is doing a great job as a LOCAL, INSTATE/INMARKET broadcasting company. Did you miss out on a job and an opportunity to move back into the Albany market with ABC? Do you hate it up there in Vermont so much that you can’t stand it that your other New School classmates (which you use as your biggest insult to say someone went there) have done so well for themselves at ABC? You also ask how long we must suffer through Q103. If I were you I’d ask myself how long your Vermont listeners have to suffer through Who-Be-Dat? Suffer isn’t even a word. Maybe Mancow would be a great addition to your line up…it might allow you to be *considered* an Albany station. While we are on the subject, you haven’t said too much about Uncle Vito in a while, or JR. Has your deep, burning hatred of them cooled? I’m still amazed that you have managed to take the time to listen to JR in the morning (you’ve been an expert on him) while you are doing your “show”. Does The Bone even come in way up there in Vermont? JR is the best morning show in the market. Period. There’s no touching him at all.

I'm new to this board but have become quite the Condi sour being that I have TWO radio's in my basement. I do my fair share of listening and consider myself to be "in the know". To solve two birds with one egg I think Ric Mitchell should be placed among the Gods and be given mornings on FLY 92 again. Boomer can stick around if he wants but did God need help creating the universe in 12 days? I think not. Second, instead of this Madcow guy for channel just have Ric pull off his usual genius and throw him in the afternoons too. He so good he can do it and since they're both owned by Regents it's a no brainer. Just change the channels format and two problems solved like that. The bone is another problem on it's own and I may need a day or two for this one. Ted Levine has a good two cents coming from this old faithful. I'm still peeved about the whole Sheehan thing. Anyways, I have some serious dirt coming in this weekend from my trusty informants and will keep all of you listeners up to date as I am. I agree 100% on the Ric Mitchell for FLY mornings, he's a entertainer and a informer. FLY92 is owned by ABC Albany Broadcasting company and the Channel 103.1 is owned by CC Clear Channel.

I have now and have had many friends that work at that company and honestly, they don't say many good things about ABC, except maybe the pop is cold in the soda machine. Valhallafred or whoever you are, you are entitled to your opinion. I would however like to point out a couple of things. Yes, I do sift through a bunch of prep and read what I think is the best on the air after I've tailored it to my style. I feel it is much better to be preped when you open the mic so you can do your thing and get back to what the listener came for in the first place, the music rather then drone on foever about oneself. And if you do have access to the numbers you would see that what I do does have it's rewards and that PYX would be foolish to get someone else, "Ah Yeah!"

Except for his comments about the new Edge, I have to agree completely with Valhallafred (who ever he is) about his past comments about certain Albany radio personalities. The fact that PYX will lose a Pat Kelly, but leaves afternoons,as they are says little for the station, and even less for the Albany market, for anybody passing through. Uh-Yuh.
