List of Cancelled TV Shows

It's lengthy. Details:

On a personal note, I'm disappointed to see Body of Proof on the list. I just discovered this marvelous show about a month ago and got hooked. One of the best dramatic shows I've seen in years. I wish ABC would reconsider, but I know they won't.

"Body of Proof" was good. I wasn't able to watch it this season as ABC brought it back but late this year, and I just missed it, but the gap was long. There were also unexplained cast changes.

Body of Proof really ran off the rails this season with some ridiculous storylines and atrocious writing. Cast changes and the reduction of some other characters didn't help.

Touch was better in it's first season before it got into conspiracy theory stuff. Still enjoyed the show, however.

Sorry to see Golden Boy go as I thought it was sharply produced and written.

Some of the series cancelled in mid season might get summer burnoffs of unaired episodes, such as 666 Park Avenue and Zero Hour.

I've only seen the program within the last month or so. If there's been bad creative in the show, I haven't seen it yet. I thought that last week's plot with the plane crash was beyond excellent. Sorry to be contrary.

On the other side of the coin, I would love to know who the hell at NBC green-lighted Animal Practice? That is one of the worst-created shows in recent memory. Bad on all fronts. But then, this is the network that gave us BJ and the Bear, The Shape of Things, and Double Trouble.

I liked Vegas. At least they gave it a good finale and not a never to be resolved cliff hanger.

Body of Proof lost a ton of points with me because it was so obviously not filmed in Philly, the city in which it was set. It was filmed in Providence, RI the first season and back in LA, the second. Ought to be a law against dramas with a lot of location work being filmed somewhere other than where they are set. In spite of that, I love Dana Delaney (Lois Lane) and Jeri Ryan (7 of 9).

CSI:NY came very close to getting cancelled the last couple of season. In fact, for the last three season, including this one, the season finale was written as if it were going to be going to be the last show (tying up lose ends, reflections of past characters). Apparently, the producers thought it they were going to get cancelled, also. Plus, only 16 episodes of CSI:NY were shot during this season.

I really liked "Vegas" but what hurt it was CBS taking it off on Tuesday night in mid February, putting it on hiatus for a couple months and then placing it on Friday night. That was a sure sign that CBS had given up on it. At least the season finale ended as if it weren't coming back, also.

I tried to like "The Golden Boy" but, I just couldn't get into it.

Same with "Cold Case," set in Philadelphia but filmed in L.A. The underrated "Hack," on the other hand, was filmed entirely in Philly.

Is there a similar list out there for renewed/cancelled shows on cable?

I'm hoping against hope that TNT will ignore the ratings...and choose to give a vote of confidence for "Monday Mornings" based on the overwhelming critical acclaim the show has recieved.

Also......I'm wondering when (or if)...TV Land will give the green light for a third season of Fran Drescher's "Happily Divorced".

Maybe, especially if ratings pick-up when the show is repeated in coming months.

I am hoping against hope that David Kelly doesn't take a good show and muck it up with gratuitous cast changes and repeated shark jumping as has done with other shows that started out good - including, most especially, his previous medical drama, Chicago Hope. And most recently Harry's Law.

David E. Kelly is a better shark jumper than Henry Winkler and Ted McGinley combined! :D

As for the folks at KSL/Salt Lake City, it looks like they once again gave NBC another series curse by passing on "The New Normal."

As I said over at the TVNewsTalk.net board, the time should come for Bonneville to sell KSL to either Belo, Gannett, Meredith, Hubbard, or even Hearst. They all know how to treat their NBC affiliates with respect and that could mean clearing the entire NBC schedule (including SNL).

Sounds a bit like the ongoing "uneasy" relationship that exists between NBC and Sunbeam's WHDH Channel 7 in Boston.

Let's put it this way......If NBC had a viable alternative in Boston, they would have already abandoned Channel 7 by now. ;)

I'll miss Vegas, Golden Boy and Malibu Country.

Shame these shows, which actually draw an audience, are getting cancelled, and NBC is basically renewing a schedule that has it in the doldrums.

Absolutely...those poor Salt Lake people are going without that stellar NBC lineup of hit shows :D

Bonneville is owned by the Mormon Church and reflects its "values."

Hey, I actually watched Double Trouble back in the day. It wasn't any different than Facts of Life or Diff'rent Strokes. Just low rated.

Well 'scuse me ::) for having an opinion of my own and utilizing my right to express it! (sarcasm settling in) It won't happen again! I'm sooooo sorry!!! ::)

Here's another great site that lists cancelled TV shows, and has done so since way back in 1998:

http://www.tvhell.net/

Doesn't matter if a given show was cancelled after one episode or a few episodes or if it ended after several seasons. They all get submitted and listed there. Feel free to check it out.
