List the Dance-Pop songs youve heard on Hot 97 lately

Seems many Dance-Pop songs are popping up on Hot 97's mixshows (they should have added them a couple of years ago like Power 106 did, imo)... which songs have you heard? Ive heard:

Rihanna - We Found Love
Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
Benny Bennasi - Satisfaction

Post em...

LMFAO - Sexy & I Know It
Pitbull - Give Me Everything f/Ne-Yo
Alexandra Stan - Mr. Saxobeat (actually playing on Hot 97 as I speak, Funkmaster Flex keeps shouting about how he loves it)

Add a new one I heard just now on Hot 97

Avicii - Levels

Good Hot97 returning to there root's! :)

I'm still stunned about Maroon 5!

I say keep an eye on Hot 97! Sometimes we can go home again....even after 20 years :)

Not the 1st time for Maroon 5. "Makes me Wonder" was Even in Rotation when they just about shifted Full blown Rhythmic couple years ago.

Sounds like they are easing back that direction with at least the mix shows. Maybe Playlist again down the road, I haven't noticed it on the playlist yet Still Urban...for now.

Believe it or not, "Rihanna - We Found Love f/Calvin Harris" and "Pitbull - Give Me Everything f/Ne-yo" has actually been added to the regular Hot 97 Playlist. They play these songs outside of their mixshows.

Today Hot 97 played a new pop song during the 5:00 hour mixshow

Flo-Rida - Good Feeling

These are all songs NOW broke over the summer, especially Levels... hmmm.. lets see what the next book shows...

The reality is that the infamous "cycle" is not favoring hip-hop/R&B at this moment. A lot of rhythmic artists such as the ones listed have teamed up with EDM based DJ's such as Calvin Harris, Benny Benassi, David Guetta and are going this route. And right now, things are riding VERY HIGH for EDM. The DJ culture (Kaskade, Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia) has EXPLODED over the past few years. People are DEMANDING more uptempo tracks right now.

As much as some may hate the commercial aspect of what is going on, the truth of the matter is that we have to FAVOR this because there are a lot more casual fans then there are core fans and we need to "hook" those casual/sometime fans over to our side so that things can continue to grow.

I don't see Hot 97 dumping hip-hop/R&B but things are looking up for our end and it really is a question of "when" as opposed to "if" regarding a dance music/rhythmic oriented station back in New York again.....this time with a strong signal above 92 that EVERYONE in the tri-state area can pick up.

I'll go back to Hot 97 if they bring back the format they've abandoned 20 years ago. :) But I will still be supportive of 92.3 Now because dance music is starting to become "pop" again :)

I think we are just going back to the early too mid 90's when dance and hip-hop co existed nicely. I think there is room for both forms of music to thrive.

Ironically, WQHT has "Mr. Saxobeat" on its playlist, according to Mediabase.

Lol, that is ironic.

I think by the spring, Hot 97 will have a playlist where Rhythmic-Uptempo tracks and Hip-hop tracks are co-existing, but I strongly doubt Hot 97 will dump the R&B from their playlist. However, I see LMFAO, Pitbull, Rihanna, and other dance/pop artists getting spins outside of mixshows in the spring. I believe that were not seeing experimentation, but that were seeing the beginning of a gradual change.

oh so you think hot 97 would become hits and hip-hop no way

but you can have your little pipe dream

Actually Mike, it may sound bizarre but in a way I could see it happen. Let's put it this way, if they want to compete with Z-100 and 92.3 Now in that sense, their SLANT can be about R&B and hip-hop with the hits. That would be their "niche". Z-100 could lean on a more suburban front with their presentation, 92.3 Now can be more dancey and Hot 97 would have the hip-hop element incorporated.

I don't necessarily see the dance music fans running over to Hot 97 per se with that hip-hop aspect but perhaps (and I know I'm really "reaching" here) the hip-hop side can at least appreciate their artists expanding their horizons.

No, thats not what I was saying. Having 2 or 3 crossover tracks does not make you "hits and hip-hop", I said I strongly doubt they would drop R&B. Personally I like Hot 97 exactly how they are right now, and I wouldn't mind any direction they decide to go, so my"pipe dream" has already been fulfilled. ;D
