WJJD-Revisted plays current and classic country. It also streams
on the web, which is where most of our audience is.

WLIX-LP "RadioX" is alternative music/community radio covering most of Suffolk County, NY (24/7). Speciality shows: RadioXposed (new unsigned bands/artists), "Hair Hut" (80s Hair Metal Bands), LI Blues Warehouse (including live in studio sessions with area musicians and national acts)...all locally produced.

Website: radiox.fm.

We also are on two translators and now streaming worldwide.

"Real Oldies" plays all the great music from the 50's and 60's
using a 100 millwatt AM transmitter and a 235 Inovonics processor.
The transmitter is able to acquire about 110% positive modulation.

Variety AM1630 playlist consists of the Top 40 hits from 1970-1979. We have relocated to Marlborough Massachusetts and are almost finished with our studio setup. We are using the SStran with the load coil antenna design and currently achieve a very impressive 1 mile solid coverage in all directions, night and day. Believe me, I have spent many, many hours driving ground rods, burying radials, tuning the antenna and transmitter, and of course racking up the mileage on the family truckster driving around like an idiot checking my coverage each time I made a modification!

I thought I was the only Idiot that kept trying to squeeze out more coverage, and drive around in circles, buring up all my gas. I get strange looks from the neighbors, like, Why the heck is this guy jumping in his car every 10 minutes, and driving around the neighborhood and coming right back.

We probably all drive around checking our signals. I make my spouse crazy when I run around testing coverage!

Copperhead Radio is on-air at 1620AM. We're located in Eastern North Carolina about 50 miles from Raleigh. We do southern-style rock, blues, & R&B. We even mix in some country stuff if it rocks. Like a good gumbo, much of our stuff doesn't seem to have anything in common until you blend it together. But let it simmer, and it gets real tasty.

We run an SStran transmitter with the base loaded, copper-pipe antenna. The website is up at www.copperheadradio.com.

Maybe we should start a support group for radio hobbyist wives....

My wife only puts up with my antics for so long. "Sometimes Lar, what you call a hobby, I call a symptom" she once told me. She'll let me drive her car around to check my signal only if I fill up her gas tank (and run a list of errands) first.
