Listeners Remember

Actually Stan, I didn't post the link as a tribute to KLOL more than I thought some of the folks here might like to hear what the listeners said overall about the jocks, radio etc...

Thanks for that thread!! I dare say the days of collective consciousness and a feeling of a rock station that speaks to ME are long gone. It boggles the mind that in a city this size if somebody like Rush or Tom Petty put out a new album nobody plays it. Houston needs a new flavor of rock station because the current ones are so stale and unlistenable for any length of time. I guess stranger things have happened, but I'm not holding my breath by any means! I've been surprised before, just not very often anymore.

Guess the suits still don't get it. Just the music alone doesn't matter.
It's the station's personality. The very abbreviated list below should clearly explain why.

www.pandora.com
www.slacker.com
www.lastfm.com
www.live365.com

All these can be streamed on and fed into a growing number of devices including cars (through any smartphone) and an ever growing number of televisions.
The one thing that they all lack is personality. No DJ's, no promos, no persona.

I really don't know what this post has to do with the thread but in the 70's, 80's and 90's KLOL provided a lot more persona than one can find now.

I agree Kendro ole buddy. They just don't get it. I might as well just listen to my ipod. At least I'd have some say in the play list. And that is all it is now... recorded music.

And yes..... I'm back. The rockin warrior queen is back.
