Listening to JB 105 right now

I have the stream blasting through my stereo system right now. "Blinded By Science" is on. Feels like I'm 12 years old again. JB 105 is streaming at http://www.jb105.com . What a great station it was then and it still is now.

Unless I hear the great voice and wackiness of Robb Stewart, it's not JB-105 to me.

At this point....I would even settle for this being on an AM signal.

JB-990...

Haha. :D

I'm hoping against hope that the website really IS the handiwork of Cumulus....That way, we could possibly end up with "JB-790".

Let Salem HAVE the Business format....little good may it do them.

At least it would get those insufferable Anthony Gemma brokered programs off there, and that sort of drivel could slither off into exile on 1320....where it belongs!

JB105.com was started by former Pro-FM jock John Stevens, who is now formerly John Stevens. He is now a she, and goes by Jessie Ashley. I'm sure that will be on the bio page for the jocks when the page is complete.

You can read more about the change and how he gave up radio for selling make up and giving massages here: http://jessieashley.wordpress.com/

What would be excellent is if JB-105 came back, as a classic hits/rock station, playing the very 60-80s music it played back in the day!
As an aside, IIRC I first heard the piano exit of 1971-ish’s Layla back around 1980 on JB (I was 13-14, at the time), thinking it was some instrumental jam version of Jackson Browne’s The Load Out (and being several months before I realized Layla had a whole different vocal section!). Ahh, those were the days!

Having worked weekends at the actual JB105 back in the 80's, John let me voicetrack the afternoon shift on JB105.com for awhile, which I really enjoyed. I'd enjoy doing again if I'm invited back :D
