I had this question come up at work - Does anyone know where I can find a "Listing of the Top 20 or so Commercial Radio Stations in Coverage Area (or Signal Strength) in the Nation?" Does Radio-Locator have a comparative listing? Anywhere else? Thanks for any help you are able to provide!

This list might be helpful:
"50,000-Watt AM stations"
<a target="_blank" href=http://www.northpine.com/broadcast/50kwam.html>http://www.northpine.com/broadcast/50kwam.html</a>

This link lists the Class I (50kw W clear channel) AM radio stations.

50kw is the highest allowed signal strength currently (WLW at one time operated at 500kw). Stations at the lower end of the dial - and those between the Appalachians and the Rockies - tend to have larger coverage areas.

WNAX, Yankton, SD has long claimed to have the largest coverage area (5kw at 570).
