Lite 106.7 mornings?

The Northern New England market is buzzing with a story that the PD of 95.7 WZID Manchester NH is about to join the Lite 106.7 morning show. True or someone's idea of a late April Fools joke? :)

The station has been advertising a job opening for a PD for that station as well as an OM for other stations in the group on All Access...could be true.

So much for the Clear Channel point of view that the music and not the personality matters.

You can't replace Buchner and a balanced program with what they were trying to do. No disrespect meant to the two ladies, but they were very difficult for men to listen to.

What the hell are men doing listening? Seriously.

Some men might like music other than classic rock or heavy metal or might want to hear something other than sports or "hot talk," you know. Just because a station isn't "targeted" to a certain demographic, doesn't mean that some of that demographic doesn't listen...and in the case of Lite FM, a fairly large part to boot.

Not to mention all the men who are exposed to Lite FM in their offices or places of business day after day.

If you are watching a TV show and the commercials are for ******s and tampons, guess what. You are watching the wrong station. Lite FM targets who they target becauace that's who the advertisers target. Men who don't listen to Rock, Sports or talk.....either they use the products I mentioned above or need the Broadway channel on Sirius :)

That is an idiotic statement. By your logic, no men ever listen to any artists heard on Lite FM either. Not everything in society is so rigidly defined as you so ignorantly portray it.

It's not that you're watching or listening to the wrong station, you are just watching or listening to a station of which you are not the target demo. Yes, some men do listen to LITE, but their traget demo is women (34 - 54) and they are going to super-serve that demo. If men listen, it's gravy.

No kidding. That's exactly what I said above. Lite FM targets women, but that doesn't mean that only women listen.

Bill Buchner must have been big in NYC since he gave the METS the Series in 1986. Bet Mookie Wilson loved the show.

No offense taken.

Seriously though, I really don't remember hearing commercials for the aforementioned feminine hygiene products mentioned. ;D

Lite FM in the 80's was like the Bee Gees. Everyone listened, just not everyone admitted it. No matter what age you were, when you were getting it on, the Lite was on. ::)

I play the piano, I was in chorus in high school. I sing/sang/played a lot of the music Lite FM played in the day. I also love the Scorpions, Bon Jovi and music from HMS Pinafore. I can't be the only male out there.

Before you take that and run with it, I was an all county baseball and football player.

But this isn't about me or males, it is about Lite FM. Batt Johnson was not only an accomplished broadcaster, he is an accomplished actor. Thats something a guy like me could relate to. When Bill Buckner came, he sounded to me like someone I would have a beer with. He may have been targeting women, but he didn't cut me out of the card game.

I am sure the ladies were fine for a lot of people, but to me, It felt more like I was standing outside the ladies dressing room. :-[

No. Your post was ignorant and insulting (direct quote from your post: "Men who don't listen to Rock, Sports or talk.....either they use the products I mentioned above or need the Broadway channel on Sirius"). My was an explanation from an industry standpoint.

You very conveniently left out the very next sentence that I had posted: "Just because a station isn't "targeted" to a certain demographic, doesn't mean that some of that demographic doesn't listen...and in the case of Lite FM, a fairly large part to boot."

Also, you completely misread what I wrote about men and rock/sports/talk, and then you attributed the Broadway Channel post to me, when I didn't post it.

Perhaps you should learn to read more carefully before posting and insulting others.
