Word is as of the first week of Feb..Bold Gold will own 94.3-WNAK-WCDL,
the current employees will not be kept and the format on the FM will be talk (national) and the AM's will be sports ???

Can't think they'd get rid of or couldn't use Paula Degler. She's a pro and can do everything. If she got wacked then there's a talent anyone could use.

Without mentioning nay names, there is a currant guy at Bold Gold who also was co owner of SGD that was good at wacking people. Just ask some former staff members there.

They love automation and sat's

from what i heard, they are taking bill flynns polka show off wnak after this weekend, and putting him on wick, and the fm next month.. hope it goes well for him. paula degman is a true profesional, and a lady. i hope she does well..sam

Paula is one of the remaining true professionals in the biz. A true "Jill of all Trades." It would be a shame to see her let go as she has literally been the glue that was binding both WNAK and 94.3 together for the past several years.

I met Billy Flynn in what was likely my first month in radio. He had his polka mojo working all the way back then, and I mean early '70s. He'd never remember, but I cut some legal IDs for a couple of his "network" stations at the time and actually heard one on the air in Rhode Island (I think) while driving to Cape Cod a hundred years ago.

Paula is a fine human being. Although we've not had any contact in years, she was ALWAYS a pleasure to deal with in any situation. I wish her nothing but abundant good luck.

The reality is nasty. No matter how important you are, if you cost money, and they can save money by jettisoning you, they will. As an old broadcasting friend recently said to me, "Cemeteries are full of people who thought they were indispensable." Sadly true.

Vince....ironically...early in my career....I was Bill's board op for a few months at WNBF in Bing. back in 1979! He was a lot of fun to work with indeed!

Jeez, Kevin, remember when WNBF was hot? It used to be the monster in the market. "Broome County Bruce" is a name I recall. All in all, it's amazing that Billy had a board-op at WNBF. Didn't WENE play into Flynn's career somehow?

Sing like the king with feeling...and his mama cries...on a cold grey Honesdale morning...there's a little bitty boy playin' radio....bene-DEBT-o... ;D What do Bold Gold and WS Media have in common? One is an investment firm, but neither have a clue about radio. ;D Thanks. I'm playing here all week (drumroll)

Paula is definately a class act. But, dont forget there are other people at that station who have worked very hard to keep it going over the past year. They have been working on a skeleton crew of 4 people including 1 sales person for months. Hopefully ALL of the employees find other work, because without them, that station would have went dark months ago.

Ira LIVES with the sales babe :-* AND the sale is supposed to close this week ???

Thats right ron, They do live together, and from what I hear, they have made everyone's life that works(ed) there miserable. Word is many are sad to leave, but happy it's over...
