Lite, Coast Back To Regular Programming

With Christmas Day over, both WWLI-105.1 and WSNE-93.3 went back to their regular music formats around 12 Midnight.

While I think that a month or more of an all-Christmas format is overkill, look for both Lite and Coast to do it again next year-----and probably start much earlier than they did this year, perhaps in early November.

True, in an article Tony Bristol stated he would begin much earlier if he had his own way. This could become interesting with the comment out there.

Coast could jump on Christmas music around Halloween.I'm not joking. Some people put thier trees up that week. like my wacky nieghbors. The Riendeer and tree was up Nov 1.

Ridiculous!

Clear Channel (a/k/a Christmas Channel), parent of WSNE-93.3, flipped WNIC Detroit on November 1st and WSNI Philadelphia on November 4th to all-Christmas.

I think both may have been "trial runs" to determine if flipping to all-Christmas in early November would work. If it does, lots of CC-owned AC stations, like "Coast", may take the plunge around November 1st next year. And if Coast does it first, Lite will have to quickly follow. And by quickly, I mean within minutes.

But in both cases, both WNIC and WSNI are getting their butts kicked by Greater Media's WMGC (really, GM stole their morning show to launch the station) and the locally-owned WBEB, respectively. Although WMGC later flipped to Christmas, WNIC had the advantage by beating them to the punch.
