Reality check!!!! First of all WSKQ MAY and that is MAY eke out a 12+ win by a tenth or two of a share point. So what? 12+ makes for good bragging rights and if I were the guys over at SKQ, I'd be all over it as proof that Hispanic radio has, indeed, "arrived". The only thing that really counts is 25-54 and even if WSKQ edged Lite out of first, it still wouldn't matter. WLTW is easiy 2:1 ahead of any serious format competition and has been a consistent performer for well over 15 years. No way would or should Clear Channel mess with the format or the $70M or so they bill per year. Co-owned KOST in LA has been a 3-4 share station for years and is also a top performer because of consistency. And, at the rish of being politically incorrect, an AC station will almost always outbill an urban or Hispanc, or country station with similar 25-54 numbers because of the pre-conceived notions about the desirability of the listeners to those other formats. As for flipping WALK? Highly doubtful as well. WALK has also been a consistent performer and a top biller in Nas-Suf, not to mention the fact that their signal doesn't cover New York City itself or anything to the North, South, or East.... only Long Island. Nothing is impossible, but I would put WLTW and WALK as among the last two stations on the planet to even consider a flip, especially to Spanish.
