LITE FM on 98.9

I just stumbled across Catskill's 98.5 Lite FM coming in on 98.9. Never was there before. It's not a transmitter spurious emission, since the 98.9 signal comes from a different diredtion, more or less North-West of Poughkeepsie. Also the audio sounds very good.

Could this 98.9 be the new translator that has a CP to serve Hudson from North of Woodstock, near the WAMK site? Anyone in the Kingston or Hudson areas hearing this?? Whether or not this Lite 98.9 signal is the CP, how can the translator CP have been granted with 98.9 reserved for a full power class A station in this area??

Chris from Poughkeepsie

so Catskill 98.5 transmitter which is JUST south of Hudson isn't clear IN Hudson?

talk about complete garbage. The FCC has to do something about these translators.

I heard that ID in the top of the hour saying the "98.5 Lite-FM is WCTW, Catskill and 98.9 W225BX, Hudson". What a total moron. The main problem for this station is that 98.9 is simulcasting 98.5 about 4 kcs away from that frequency. I guess this needs to stop using the translators and move right along! Goodradio is waiting at the door.
