Lite Rock 106 1/2 WLTF memories

Love the audio. Thank you for uploading them. The very last aircheck brought back memories as I was hooked on the "80's Superstar Weekends." I think they ended up burning them out as latter in 1996, the station switched to a very weird and limited mix of music.

I do want to add that the 80's weekend aircheck might have been from April 1996, not '95. Trapper Jack Elliott didn't leave WLTF until mid-'95 (and later going to WDOK) and was replaced with Corey Deitz and Jay Hamilton from Q94 in Richmond, VA. FYI: Matt Patrick of WKDD in Akron was slated to replace Elliott, but was prevented due to legal moves.

Corey and Jay were later joined by Desiray, who would later add the last name of McCray when she started at WNWV before starting a long stint at WDOK, which continues to this day. She joined that morning show as part of an "amatuer contest." The show continued until the big switch to "Mix" in '97 when Corey and Desiray were let go. Jay was asked to stay, but he declined.

It was in early '97 when they dropped the "Lite Rock" name and went by "106.5 WLTF" until that flip.

Desiray has since remarried, and now goes by Desiray Cross. She's pretty busy these days...not only is she the PMD DJ on WDOK, but is also a feature reporter for WKYC's new "Live on Lakeside" midday news/talk show (which by the way is much better than it's predecessor "Good Company").

Good for her. Desiray is one of the best in the market right now. She clearly has come a long way from when she first started on WLTF.
