Is WRKS smooth jazz? Well, it would be interesting if 101.9 went soft ac. Mix 1027 should have stuck with AC, but obviously didn't. They feel they can beat KTU. Will it ever happen. I guess we will see.
______________

WRKS plays a lot of Urban AC product,if WQCD went AC some of their listeners would go to Kiss.

My hunch is that if 101.9 did go AC (which I doubt will happen), WLTW would adjust and get softer to protect the AC position. In the meantime Lite can get away with playing songs like "Another one bites the dust".

Sunny 101.9 Would it work?

Would it work if WQCD went to a playlist similar to WSNI (Sunny 104.5) in Philadelphia (with live DJs insted of Voicetracking that is used on WSNI) Playing a mix of 60's and 70s Oldies and 70's and 80's AC. They might pickup some displaced CBS FM listeners.

That would be a very smart thing to do. I'm sure a lot of former CBS FM listeners would flock to the station. If Infinity were smart, they would start a soft ac station on 102.7. "Sunny 1027", but as I have and others said, they are not giving up on dance music.
______________

Not necessarily a slam dunk. The Clear Channel Sunny station in Dallas never really caught on and is flipping to Gold-based Mexican on Thursday.

They didn't give it enough time.
______________

Don't forget that Dallas has an oldies station and an AC that is softer than WLTW. There wasn't enough room for it to work there. In New York it would be a slam dunk as it would fill two holes at once. In Indianapolis, the gold based soft AC WYXB has skyrocketed since that market lost it's oldies station.
